  1. My 2012 dj 2.4 has a slight issue! When the abs or traction control kicks in I have a serious dimming of the lights and it actually shut off my infotainment screen on several occasions although it came back on it's own! I've changed the battery and it tests good! It also seems that turning on anything with a significant draw such as the rear defrost will also have this effect! Even with the engine at speed! Any ideas?
  2. Looking to add fog lights to my 2012 Journey! They are one Mopar lights but the issue is this, the dealers (3) are telling me that no programming will be necessary while other people are telling me that they will! Any insight?
  3. Not sure what engine you have but if it's the 2.4l check the plastic thermostat housing! Mine was leaking for awhile and I couldn't find from where! They are known for cracking! Word to the wise though if you have to replace it get the mopar one! At my dealer it's only $35 more and is much better! Had a Napa (Dorman) part at first and it failed after 3 months!!
  4. I saw the battery compartment before the battery was replaced and it looked like the car had sat in salt water since it was new! I live in Newfoundland btw! so my mechanic didn't "hose" me! The only people hosed were the people who bought more than one of them! I like Dodge products but they're lacking in quality! I guess you don't have to be a DJ lover to be on this site just an owner!
  5. Not at all! Some vehicles have to relearn certain parameters required to run properly! It was starting to run better with time but decided to have it reflashed at the dealer! Given the dumb location of the battery everything short of the hold down and tray itself had to be replaced!
  6. Hi Rob thanks for your reply! Apparently it was an issue relating to the battery It apparently had to be "reset" or acclimatized to the vehicle! Starts and runs fine now!?
  7. Just had the thermostat housing changed and a battery installed! That was yesterday but today when I started it up it immediately shut off again followed by a successful restart! Started and stopped it several times with no problems until I let it sit again and the process repeated itself! Any ideas?
  8. Around here we drive on what's left of the road so it could simply be an alignment issue! Will have this addressed when I return from vacation. The reason I thought it may be more of an issue was because of the obnoxious creaking noise coming from back there! Will keep you posted!
  9. You can only barely see the camber out. I noticed the problem when I was checking the tire wear.
  10. I noticed that my 2012 fwd had its rear tires tipping in at the top and now I've noticed that the insides of the tires are bald all around the inside circumference. Other than the need for a straight forward wheel alignment what else could be the problem? Anything specific to the vehicle anyone knows of? Not sure if this is relevant but the rear suspension has also had a mumber of "creaking" bushings. Thanks for any help!

  12. After a long harsh winter my 2012 Journey fwd has developed a very annoying creaking noise from both sides of the rear. Tried isolating the noise by using spray silicone which helped me diagnose my front squeak but to no avail! It can't be heard during normal driving speeds but when going slow over an irregular surface or even just getting in or out of the car it does its thing! Aggravating! Been told it could be any of a number of bushings and I'm wondering is there any way at all to stop the noise short of replacing the bushings themselves?
  13. Getting ready to change the plugs on my 2.4l going to change the pcv while I'm at it. Can anyone tell me its location ? Thanks!!
  14. Thanks Journeyphenia I followed your advice to the letter and the noise was completely eradicated! At a loss for what was actually making the noise but considering that all the critical parts are in good order who really cares! Thanks again!
  15. Also if it's of any help it only seems to happen while turning left slowly such as when backing into your driveway and encountering a slight pothole
  16. Thanks for your reply I'll try your recommendation and post the results on here. By the way what product did you use and what parts did you spray precisely? Is this safe for such things as ABS sensors traction control hardware etc. Thanks again!
  17. My 2012 fwd has what seems to be well......common! When going over any sort of undulations in the road at low speed there is a pronounced "rubbery" sounding squeak in the front end. So far I have been able to rule out things like outer tie rod ends, sway bar links, ball joints. With the help of a buddy bouncing it I have been trying to "feel" for the noise by putting my hands on the various parts. It's seems to be coming from the passengers side and sounds like dry sway bar bushings. Though it don't sound like the noise is coming from there. More annoying than worrysome just worrysome enough to post here. Thanks in advance for any and all help!
