  3. 2010 SXT with Conveniencce Group 1 came with ipod control. Here is my issue. My son's itouch will not charge. Message displayed on itouch states "This device does not support charging". My son's 3 year old ipod does charge while attached. Go figure? If anyone has a solution to this, I would love to hear it. Also does the iphone charge on this? Thanks.
  4. Ditto - I bought my 2010 model (mfgr date of Sept '09) in Mid December 2009. 6000 miles and not one problem. I think they may have fixed the brake issue. I do not see the brake dust issue that the '09 owners wrote about. You will like the uconnect phone. I'm in sales and use it all the time. When I talk to my wife, she can't even tell I'm doing "slightly above" the speed limit on the Kennedy express way in Chicago. She thought I was calling from the office. Enjoy.
  5. I too see the streaking problem. After the wiper completes it's cycle there is a streak left on the glass. Rear window is bad. My front window has the problem on the upper part of the windshield - passanger side. Is this the same for everyone eles? I had Rainx on the glass - but it has worn off. Bought mine Mid Dec. 09. So the wipers aren't worn out.
  6. I have owned my SXT, 3.5L, 19" Wheels (Performance) for 1.5 months - 3266mi. No Problems. I love the acceleration - I came from a Chrysler Pacifica with 3.5L (163,000 mi. at trade in). After reading all the negative posts it was nice to read this thread with everyone's mostly positive reflections. I like my Journey.
  7. I too am a Yank. I can only give you a US perspective. I drove a 2004 Pacifica with the same 3.5L engine for 163,000 mi. (with 4 speed trans) and did not have any engine problems. I live near the Kenosha Engine plant that builds these engines. My friend works there as a manager. He tells me they have very few problems with the 3.5L engine. The third row is tight for a 6'0" 200 lb guy. I wouldn't want to sit back there for a long trip. I have 2500 mi. on my 2010 SXT. Everything works as advertised - no problems. It appears that Fiat has a five year plan to build up this product line and add their own touches. There are two main reasons Fiat bought Chrysler. The first is they feel the Jeep line will sell well in Europe if marketed correctly. The second is that Chrysler does not have any econo-cars in their line up in the states. Fiat specializes in small cars and small technically advanced, fuel efficient engines. Best of luck to you. Good Day Governor (As Capt'n Jack Sparrow would say in "Pirates of the Caribbean"...sorry bad attempt at humor. I will leave humor to the professionals from now on)
  8. I like my 2010 SXT so far. Biggest complaint - The steering wheel blocks my view of the gauges. The steering wheel is too small (I'm pretty sure they made the wheel this small because of safety reasons - my left hand is only 3" to 4" from the door. Any closer, and a side impact accident could cause problems.) They could have moved the gauges further into the dash board to improve this angle. The Tilt/Telescope steering wheel allows me to mimimize this problem. Minor complaint - Cup holders are a little too low. Complement - The 6 speed trany up and down shifts are as smooth as butter. Minor Complaint - I down shift in order to engine brake. The Torque converter will unlock if I jump down too many gears too quickly. Minor Complaint - I-Pod control does not charge my I-touch (I-touch tells me it is not supported). I have the REQ radio. This does not allow my to scroll through the songs. I find it easier to use the AUX cable connection to be faster and easier. Complement - The ride is very quiet (was not expecting that in a dodge) Complement - Very smooth ride. Handles pot holes and road joints extremely well. Complaint - There is very little feedback when pushed hard into and out of a corner. Complement - Very good going through small amounts of snow. (only owned 3 weeks and no big snow yet). SXT 19" wheel with Sport Suspension 3.5 L with 6 speed trans FWD
  9. Started driving my SXT (3.5 L) back on Dec 14. I now have 1200mi. 70% highway 30% around town. Calculated mpg is 22. My 2004 Pacifica (3.5 L with 4 speed trans) with 163,000mi. avg. 21mpg. I drive in Northern Illinois.
