compass calibration

I just picked up my 2010 SXT Journey and I'm having the same issue. The "Cal" light keeps blinking on the compass but I don't have the steering wheel controls for the EVIC. The owners manual is a bit lacking on how to use the EVIC without the wheel controls. Todd
