bewildered

Ok folks. I finally got a camera down under there where I could see how this thing is built and therefore what I had to do to get the fuse panel open. However, the local auto parts stores do not yet stock these 2014 fuses {gritting my teeth here}. The new fuses are smaller {design flaw in my opinion} and no other fuse style will work. One has to trek to the dealership to get a replacement. It was only .99 and eveything now works as it should. It is my opinion that this automaker wants you to rely on them to supply all parts and labor on ANY repair or replacement no matter how small. I find this disgusting, as I have worked on cars nearly my whole life with the exception of transmission work. I have single handledly replaced engines, rear differentials, done body repair and prep for painting. I've never painted a car either. I've rewired the electrical on my frist car and everything and I do mean everything worked as it should, plus I installed a high powered sound system. I have never had to ask a dealership for nothing. Hopefully, if we don't have to get them to do everything from sales floor to junkyard {cradle to grave} they can't, or maybe won't, jack up the prices of the cars or service. Oh wait, they already did all that didn't they?

I had a low tire and since it is my wifes car I got out my miniature compressor to air it up. I plugged into the cigar lighter plug and tested the switch on the compressor and then went to the tire to hook up the hose. I flipped the switch and the compressor only powered up for a second and then quit. Since I was in a rush, I went to the compressor at the gas station where one now has to pay! for air. Later that day I checked the compressors plug {with built in fuse holder} and the fuse was not burnt. At that point I deduced the fuse in the car must be burned out.

I work twelve hrs a day, and so far the dealership has been nothing but a hassle anyways. I am not paying a mechanic $100/hr to walk out and wave their magic wrench and replace a fuse. Fuses are something the owner should be able to do without having to jump through hoops.

yeah thats why I'm posting here. I have tried not to tear the dash apart, with a prybar,... yet.

Someone please help. I have tried to talk to the dealership, I have called the dodge "help" line, and nobody can tell me how to open the fuse panel. I have taken pictures and I cannot figure this out from what I have seen. I can get the "box{?}" to swivel down about a half inch, but nothing else. My first car was a Dodge Charger circa 1971, and we've owned a couple of other Dodge vehicles with only minor complaints here and there. This is a pain.
