  1. I finally pulled one of the headrest out of my 2010 R/T, so now I know a little better on how these things work. The headrest does not have any high tech methods of being attached to the seats, they just use the little indents like a regular headrest to go up and down. There is a wire that runs inside the chrome tube that goes into the plastic box on the back side of the headrest, this activates the unit when you are rear ended (not sure if its explosives or a motor that pushes the padding forward). Your headrest should not go up or down automatically unless you have a loose clip and gravity allows it fall lower into the seat. On a side note, does anyone know how to bypass the active headrest sensor so the airbag light doesn't come on? I measured 2.5 ohm resistance, so I will try a resistor in the plug, but any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
  2. About the cruise control... I think I figured out an acceptable solution. Yesterday I tried the cruise with the tranny in manual mode. While in 6th gear, I downshifted to 5th as I was getting on an incline that normally would slow the Journey down. She kept a constant 78mph the entire time. When the incline was over, I just pushed the gear select back to 6th and whoila. Cruise control stays on the entire time and the speed does not vary. Although we shouldn't have to do that, it's much better than slamming the gas pedal down in frustration to get the speed back up.
  3. My came on for the 1st time around 4700 miles. Changed it today. Dodge made it really easy to get to everything.
  4. The Fram book in Wal-Mart lists the "2" series filters for our car, but their website shows the 10060 filter. I verified this because I really thought my wife, who bought the filter, was wrong. She was right, I guess the book is wrong and their website is right. (FYI - I don't recommend Fram from all the stuff I read inthe past few years, but our options at Wally world are limited)
  5. In order from current to past: 2010 Dodge Journey R/T (current) 2007 Honda Civic EX sedan (current) 2008 GMC Acadia SLT 2005 Dodge Magnum R/T 2006 Pontiac GTO 1989 Ford Probe GT 2006 Chyrsler 300C 2003 Yamaha R6 2002 Ford SVT Lightning 1981 Ford F150 1998 Honda Prelude 1977 Toyota Celica GT
  6. I have the R/T version (V-6), which is suppose to be the sportiest of all the models (hence "Road / Track"). The speed has to drop down to 5mph before the tranny kicks down. Maybe I'm spoiled, but my past cars (300C, Magnum R/T, GTO, stock Civic 4-cylinder sedan, etc) never varied by more than a couple mph before they did something (most of them never varied, period.). If I set the cruise for 70 the car should stay at 70, not between 65-70. I need to find some time to get to a dealership, there must be some kind of program update they can do to fix this horrible problem.
  7. Three questions: 1. Has anyone installed aftermarket headrest monitors or headrest DVD systems? Specifically for the 2010 model (different headrest). 2. How do you remove the front headrests from a 2010 Journey? 3. Those with the REU radio (Nav), does this radio have dual mode capability (watching DVD's from the headunit in back and having the radio or nav playing and displaying up front)? Thanks.
  8. I've owned many new cars and the Journey has been just fine except for one major problem, the crappy cruise control. This has been the worst car ever when it comes to holding a constant speed. It is common for the speed to drop 4mph on small inclines and the Journey let's it be. This is unacceptable. For this reason alone, I will never buy another one (unless someone has a fix (like a programming update)).
