Leather Seats as Dealer Option

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Just ordered a Journey SXT Business Edition Navigation 7 seats. Because it is a company lease car it is favourable in the Netherlands to keep the catalogue price as low as possible, since my tax payment is based on that.

As additional dealer options (so not built in by the factory) is chose leather seating. My car will arrive in a month and then I have to go to the dealer to choose my preferred colour for the leather seating. This will be applied afterwards. Does anybody have any experience with that? Is it nice compared to factory leather?

I also purchased rear DVD player a official dealer option. The advantage of that is it will be dual screens in the headrest which I really prefer over the single one in the ceiling of the car. This way I can still use my rear mirror when the kids watch DVD. Anybody any experience with this option?

Still have to wait a few months but really looking forward to my Journey!

Hi. The dealer option leather sounds like seat covers unless they do custom work which would then run you an extra couple thousand ( I'm sure they would've told you about this). Just pay attention to the finishing details like the fit and snug-ness of the seats. Do they slip around when you get in or out? Do they 'look' good/bad? The DVD headrests will more than likely be self contained units that play independant of the head unit. If you have any complaints make sure you tell the salesperson and get it in writing on the contract. Let us know how the seats and DVD work out for you, I'm interested in those options.

hey,

I looked at getting leather setats as well. i found a company that does this. the dealer useres the same company if the factory doesnt fit them. they do an OEM fit, they are not seat covers, they take the existing covers off and fit it with new ones. they probably buy it off Mopar and fit it. you can get the two rows starting from $900 i think. as for the DVD player you can buy it fir about $900 again and get it installed probably cost about another $200-300 to install it. yes please eep us posted on the two screen option. i think it will be better as it will not block the rear view.
