  1. Radio was totally fried. Called the local dealer and after exchanging some information they gave me the info and everything is working well. Does anyone know if adding a load resistor would help with getting signal out of the radio to an external processor to avoid this again?
  2. I have a hunch that it is. Any clue on how to do this (maybe a youtube)?
  3. It's really strange I've hooked up dozens of amps over the years with this one being no different. Tapped in to the factory harness for the signal and since I couldn't seem to get the Audio Control LC2i I wondered if there was some sort of load sensing circuit in the radio so I wired in some 4 ohm ceramic resistors and still nothing. Thought it might be the LC2i so I disconnected that and used my phone to connect signal to the amp and POOF goes the smoke from the radio. Truly confused.
  4. Pulled the radio-definitely fried. Ordered a new (used) one. Any tips on programming the new one since it's a direct replacement? Also, this is by far the most finicky car I've ever encountered from an audio perspective.
  5. Trying to hook up an external amplifier to upgraded speakers in doors and dash (which I've done before in dozens of cars). Radio screen and controls all blank. Smells like burnt electronics under the dash. Car starts/runs (thank heavens). Also get a "Check Keyless System" notification. Any suggestions?
  6. Anyone know which Metra speaker harnesses fit the dash and front door speakers? I'm swapping them out and would prefer not splice any factory wiring. I've found 72-6514 and 72-6512. Thanks!
  7. The harnesses are pretty easy-I've used forward and reverse harnesses to tap in to signal before. I'm just wanting to know if there's anything else i need to be aware of so that it actually outputs signal if it's not under load or throws a code.
  8. What I'm wanting to do is to tap in to the exisiting stereo to provide an input to an external processor that I'll then feed in to an aftermarket amplifier. I'd prefer not to buy the PAC-CHY5 if I don't have to but if that's what works so be it.
  9. From the limited information I have there's a different interface required to tap in to the factory audio system if it is.
  10. Wife got a 16 SXT as a work vehicle yesterday. Has the 4.3" Touchscreen with BT and no XM. How do I tell if it's a CANBUS unit?
