It is very difficult to follow owner manual always. Things on road go different.
What are you talking about dude?

A new filter might free a little something up but it's not going to be very measureable
I don't think there is much to increase HP yet, HP Tuners is working on expanding their support to Dodge but that hasn't happened yet and I'm not sure if the Journey will be tuneable
For better milage you could try higher octane gas, which will give you slightly better performance if the ECU is programmed that way, and stay off the pedal

TV, Cell, Radio towers, pretty much anything putting out a radio signal will mess with the system and cause interference, you especially notice this if you live somewhere higher than the surrounding area since that is where they put antennas
-
If you want to avoid a trip to the dealer and see what is setting the SES light you can take it to AutoZone and they will check it for free

If my guess is correct....To add homelink to my SXT, all I would need is a new visor with the homelink in it?
I have lighted visors now, so the homelink would have power at the visor location already.
Can anyone confirm this?
I would think that would work, I know in the cars it came with it will not work when the car is locked (which arms security, and during remote start I think, which locks it anyway) but if you can make the hole then I think you can add it in

about a dollar cheaper on Ebay, might as well get it from the dealer so you know your getting the right thing
-
I don't exactly see what would cause a vibration in the heads, that is where the valves and spark plugs are
I think there is something with electric valve timing beaucse there is electrical connections on the valve covers and there have been weird issues with cars like that but I hope this fixes your problem
First I heard dealers have been replacing pistons for ticking noises and now rebuilding the heads on a 1 year old car to stop a vibration, sometimes I wonder where they find these people that work on cars at dealerships, if you can call what they do work
-
I don't think its a rotor, you would feel that either all the time or when you hit the brakes not just when you are on the gas. Right when you see the engine light come on try to take it to Autozone, they will scan the car for free
Sounds more like a drivetrain issue, what you are describing is commonly called "shudder" and that could be from the torque converter or something with the internals of the transmission
-
Yep, you'll haar ABS kicking in to limit wheel spin and once you are truely stuck it won't spin the wheels no matter how hard you punch the gas

I just today found 6...6 stinkin recalls!!!!!!!!!!!! recalls on the Journey. Do you all know about this???? I'm livid and knew nothing about any recalls........!!! I'm taking the list with me to get my oil changed and I'm gonna ask them if they can fix them all.
Here they are. Sorry if they have been talked about already.

Just beacuse there are 6 recalls doen't mean they all apply to your Journey, Dodge will send you something in the mail if it applys to your car

The last couple of days the car has developed a hard downshift. This only happens 1 time in the morning when i pull out of my garage. It upshifts fine to 3rd or 4th but at the first red light when coasting to a stop there is a very
noticeable, hard, downshift at about 20-30km/h. I assume it's downshifting to 2nd? The car is brand new with just under 500km on the odo.
Any thoughts? Should I be worried or do you think I should give it a bit of time. Since it's so new maybe the
computer is still learning driving patterns.
PS. It's a 2010 2.4L with the 4 speed auto. Transmission fluid is right on the money.
thanks
poz
I would guess the car is warming up, since the fluid not only lubricates the transmission it is also like a hydralic fluid that is used to move little pieces inside
try letting the car warm up for 5 minutes and see if this still happens

Why bother? What do you gain by turning it off???
My Bonneville is fairly heavily modded to about 300 HP (205 stock) and sometimes I just like to lay down some rubber, sometimes if I need to swerve and hit the gas and the tires spin it will cut back engine power and apply the brakes which is the oppisite of what I need it to do

I installed a Sirius plug and play and have been using the front power outlet. However the radio (the plug and play radio) does not shut off with the car, I noticed this also when I was charging my phone, it just keeps charging.
My worry is that I will forget to unplug my radio and it will drain the battery.
Any ideas?
Don't you have 2 outlets up front? one has a battery symbol on it and that is on all the time then there is one with a key on it and that is controlled by the ignition

You get Average MPG, DTE (distance til empty), Runtime, and I think thats everything
-
well then .. why just don't setup one and get things organized just like we want ?
At the moment I'm not really interested in putting the money and time into making a new forum, I know how hard the staff works on the Bonneville Forum that I am part of the staff at. If we can get the owner to get some of the members more permissions here we could make this like we want to
-
Sorry, I'm used to a different style of forum and just noticed that we don't have a Lounge to talk about just whatever seems to come up, maybe the owner could get to that if we ever find out who he is
-
With RainX glass treatment which takes 10 minutes to do on all the glass of the car and something like a Bosch Icon, or RainX Latitude you will have streak free glass in the rain or snow
-
yah they are usually ilegal unless the conditions are appropriate, I don't think you could have a recall either, I don't run this place but I am staff on another forum and keeping things organized starts with the members, please try to post where it is relevant, this section is for recalls that are out there, or TSBs that should be addressed not just pointing out something with your lights
-
The actaul trunk is metal, the bumper below it is plastic
-
So is there some recall on this?
-
We have had Dodge vans for a long time and never had a problem with the engines ever, just got the Journey this July and with almost 10,000 miles on it haven't had any issues except a big piece of metal getting into one of the tires the other day
-
You will be surprised how water can get into places, ice froze inside one of my relays and made my fog light HIDs stay on all the time, even with the car off
-
Mine get a little warm, but I used to put them in bags without an overheating problem but water would get in and sit there, with salt up here in the north the terminals corrode really fast on the relay, I buy them in bulk on Ebay because you can do endless things with them
it might be a good idea to have a few spare relays on hand in case you need to replace it, I have 2 HID kits on my car so I go through 2-3 during the winter and maybe 1-2 during the rest of teh year, you can get like 12 for $20 on Ebay instead of $5 each at an auto parts store
I NEED A SUNROOF

You want to chop into a brand new car? I would make sure you trust the shop a lot so you will be happy with it
