  1. Man I hate that for you. I wish I had found this forum before I bought a new Journey. I am taking it in tomorrow for its 3rd repair on the air in a month! Plus I took it in once for the rear view mirror. Im really upset with it but everything I have read it seems hard to get a new vehicle or buyout. You probably need to contact an atty in your area. Before you do that sit down and figure out how many days it has been in for repairs- that seems to be something they look at.

What is the new noise you are hearing? We have some noise that sounds like air releasing? Not sure what it is but they are going to look at it tomorrow b/c I drove it to the dealer when it was making the noise and made them come out and listen b/c last week they told me it was normal. Now that they heard it they know it isn't normal!

Good luck with this. I have read they will do everything possible to make this as hard as possible.

  2. My air is blowing hot air again. Lost its charge. Was repaired 3 times before I got the car and now this will be my third time taking it in.

Plus I took it to the dealer to let them hear the hissing noise. When they heard it they said it was not normal and not what they thought I was talking about last time I took it in for the same noise.

So back I go on Thursday. Has anyone else had any of these issues so maybe there is something I can tell them to look into? Thx!

  3. I also have noticed this "hissing" and wondered what it is.

It seams to be connected to the throttle - the more push the gas pedal down - the more the hissing sounds. You can say that the hissing is behaving the way the engine is. The more engine noise - the more hissing.

Is this the same for you?

About the cooling - idiot question: you know you can set the climate control separately for the left and right side (and rear) of the vehicle?

And have you checked the way the blowers is blowing the air? A draft can make it seam colder than it really is.

    /Andreas

My journey lets me 'set' the sides separately but not digitally. Both are set the same and the air temp difference is obvious right in the center counsel section.

My hissing sound happens even when I turn off the car. It sounds like something releasing air but it is constant. It will stop for a minute and then start back up. I hear it in the rear and in the front.

  4. Does anyone else hear air releasing all the time? I took it in and they said it was the expansion valve. It is a low hissing noise. I have never had this in any of my vehicles.

Plus, my air is colder on the passenger side than on the drivers side and they told me it was that way in all of the Journeys? And it doesn't blow full force unless we are going over 55 MPH. The dealer keeps acting like I am crazy and said it didn't happen to them but I have had 3 different people with me notice it. Anyone else have this?

  5. So, my air was attempted to be repaired 3 times before I ever got the car and it wasn't fixed. I got the car and took it to my local dealer who replaced the o ring (?) and charged it up.

Now my air works but only if I am going 55 or faster. Most of our driving is in town going 35-45 MPH and the air is more like having the vents open with no air.

When going faster and the air is working it is not 'cold' in the rear and still seems like only the vents are open and the driver side does not get as cold as the passenger side.

Also, there is a hissing noise when the air is on. Not all the time but randomly.

Anyone else encountered this? Going in again tomorrow for its 5th repair.

  6. What many people don't realize is that the odds of getting a no-issue vehicle are quite good with just about anything these days. If each vehicle has a single small repair in its first year, the model is "much worse than average."

I am happy with mine. I will be honest- we had to drive an SE for a day until we got our SXT and I would not have been happy with an SE. It was loud and you could really hear it pulling and we were not impressed with that at all and were really nervous before getting the SXT.

The SXT is much better and is a very smooth ride. I have had mine in twice already and owned it less then a month. 1 time for the air conditioning and just yesterday b/c my rear view mirror was not working and I had them remove some glue on the brake light and antenna that looked terrible.

Luckily, the dealer in town that I go to is great and has great service!

  7. I just bought today a crome fuel door, a Dodge bug deflector for hood and front and rear splash/mud guards. Gonna go tommorow and see about getting front doors tinted and vent visors for all 4 doors and get the items stated installed. I would have dealer install, but it was to much money. I added the fuel deoor myself. The others need some drilling and I refer to a pro to do that work on my New auto, lol.

I've got a black metallic journey and just added chrome door handles and a chrome fuel door. Looks great! I also plan to add a roof rack.
