I brought the journey in the dealer and they came back saying that the *telematics module* is not responding when they try to read it etc. So first step is to replace this module. Dodge/Chrysler canada will not cover the part nor will uconnect. The part is $700 before programming and install.

So right now the infotainment is pretty much useless other than music.

The are several TSBs that may cover your issues. Where is DodgeCares lately?!? I would PM DodgeCares. That's who can research your issue and direct you towards helpful TSBs. TSBs help your service dept as well. Good luck. Uconnect is cool when it works but buggy.

Hey everyone, So recently we now have about 74,000km on our 2012 Journey RT AWD and everything has been great with it until last week when the bluetooth/phone screen was having issues. If you go to the touch screen and try to use the phone it says *please wait while initializing* but it never actually does. You can not cancel, dial, or do anything with the phone.

If I push any command buttons it will do nothing.

Also the navigation does not work correctly as well, it will show me the turns etc but will not voice them.

I have disconnected the battery and let it sit for a little bit and then connect again, after doing so everything works for a brief period of time and than back to the exact same thing. I have disconnected the battery 4 times doing this hoping it would just keep working but no luck.

Now that im out of warranty the dealer does not even want to try and help me out over the phone, I need to bring it in for them to diagnose it (they are an hour away from me) I also asked to see if they have had any problems like this before etc but they just keep saying they will need to look at it first.

Any help would be amazing!

So im just curious if there's a possibility that 2012 journey can have heated steering wheel???? My fingers get frozen everytime i drive on winter!! I know wearing glove is best trick but im suck on remembering to grab gloves before hopping in the car.

I am also wondering this! Would love to have that here in nova scotia.

I purchased a rear bumper guard in BLACK from RPG at w w w (dot) rearpaintguards (dot) com

The product fit perfect but the black was a RUBBER paint, and all the dust stuck to it.

No worries.. I can wipe it down... (I thought)

NOT... the next day, all the ridges started to peel up. The unit was a SILVER one they sprayed with black rubber paint, like that stuff they put on a screen door in the bottom of a boat and it floats..(as seen on tv).

It alllllll peeled off.. Just rubbed off... big rubber sheets that were stretchy.

Now I have a perfect silver unit (that was painted) on my Journey and have no idea how to get the 3M tape off without destroying the bumper.

I paid $132 for the product, it fit nice.. but the paint was total garbage.

How can this protect your paint, if the paint on it just rolls off?

Company did not reply, I am TRYING to get paypal to dispute, as the website showed nice BLACK PLASTIC units ( not painted ones... as the underside of mine was silver... and the web showed the undersides as black.)

The paypal charge was from another company in Korea.

A dog, sitting on the unit and tying your shoes will rub off this rubber paint stuff (and be all over you and your dog)

I am currently in a dispute with the company and will not release their name right now until it is settled. Either it will be positive or negative. The running boards look great, easy to install but they shorted two support brackets that I need. When installing them I came across 2 brackets and there are suppose to be 4, right now they will not help me out and keep hanging up on me. They say they can not supply them and I should take them off and go to a fab shop to make them.

After everything I will release their name one way or another.

The wife and I decided to go camping around the Cabot Trail, I am sure most Canadians already know what that is and if some people do not it is one of the top tourist spots in the world. The mountains run along the ocean nearly the whole time, unlike other mountains that are land locked.

I have been around the Cabot many times but this is the first with the DJ. So I took some pictures And yes my son and pregnant wife are in one of the pics.. shh do not tell her ahah

It would look just like the R/T front ends... The R/T comes with the body color grill frame and cross-hair. In fact, you may find that the R/T bezel in that color may be cheaper than taking your chrome one off and painting it. Would probably hold up better (stone chips in the paint will show the chrome underlayer), too. Just a thought.

I purchased my 2012 Dodge Journey R/T new and it never came with a painted to match grille. Mine is chrome.

Unless its only 2013's that now come like that?

Where they easy to install? Did it require drilling?

They were fairly easy to install and yes there is some drilling involved. I was not fond of that part but decided to go with it anyways. What you are drilling if 4 little holes into your rocker sill, the main brackets bolt onto the journey and there are 4 small brackets that stop them from flexing when weight it put onto the board. A bolt goers through them and through the rocker sill hole and bolts to the main brackets. It is easier than it sounds.

Well they are 3" and hollow, so I would say they are light and solid. They did not feel like tin to me. There's no manufacture band stamped on them anywheres.. Which I'm perfectly fine with.

I can take more pics next week when I am home if you'd like.

But for the $100 they cost they were a damn good buy.

I figured what the heck that I would try a set of ebay running boards on the journey, I got them in and put them on just the other night.

I decided to give my car a hand wash today and I noticed that nearly all my windows are scratched, to me it looks like scratches caused by a window scraper being used in the winter time. Now I use the same scrapper on both of my vehicles and the journey is the only one with scratches, has anyone else run into this problem? Is there something dodge has put on their windows (a coating of some sort).

I found the issue! I just went out to the journey and pulled out the owners manual again, it is for the wrong year! I emailed my sales person at dodge and will send me out the correct one for my 2012. I just downloaded the one online from dodge for the time being.

the lowest safe mark means you still have enough oil in it.... you dont want to overfill the oil so as long as it shows good just leave it....

Yes I do understand that but it should be at the max mark on the dip stick. I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed this.

I am doing an oil change on my wife's 2012 Dodge Journey R/T with the 3.6L penastar engine, the reason why I ask if theres a miss-print in the manual is because it says the engine with filter takes 5.2L of engine oil. I purchased 6L of oil and just finished putting 5.5L in, I let the r/t sit for about 2 hours in my garage and checked the oil. It is showing just on the lowest *safe* mark. So I am wondering if you are putting roughly 6L of oil in?

Thank you! To be honest I haven't seen any other 2012 blue journeys. I have come across another one but it was a 2010, it's a pearl blue.

The wife wanted a white one but this was the only one they had with every option avaiable. So we took it.

The Nav works amazingly! I couldn't believe the features it offers. You will definitely enjoy it.

Out of curiosity... My wheels are 19" an they are a aluminum wheel but have a chrome cover over them. I'm not sure of the dealer term but to me it's a hub cap over the aluminum wheel. Do you know if it can pop off? Reason being I ordered a set of toyo gsi5 235/55/19 winter tires and want to run the bare aluminum wheel and not ruin the cover.

We have had it for two months and I thought i'd sign up and say hi. Before the journey we had two 2009 lancer gts but decided to trade one of them in to get a awd suv, so far we are happy with the journey.
