  1. My 2010 RT with leather seats did the same thing after about a year. I complained to the dealer who did the ussual...... nothing. I added that to my list of problems and this month i traded it off on a 2012RT - 2010 RT problems solved.

Hopefully...because I have a 2011 which uses the same bin design as the 2012 and the 2010.... :(

Hopefully an onslaught of felt tape will save the day!

  2. Did anyone notice when someone is sitting in the passenger seat with the storage bin it creaks when going over bumps and such.

It sounds as iff the various plastics that make up the bin are rubbing against each other.

Try sitting in it and rocking around to see what I mean.

    Very annoying!

  3. Cool, I think I'm going to go with the DDM Tuning LED's. Those seem to be the brightest LED replacements out there. I mainly need super bright because of the dark tint in the back, I want to be able to see as good as possible.

I'm also ordering 1x 194 LED bulb (for the glove box light), 2x 168 LED bulbs (for the license plate lights), and 2x 578 Festoon LED bulbs (for the rear hatch lights). Call me picky, but I want all of my interior lights to be LED and match the original LED lights in the interior. It's kind of lame Dodge didn't match them all to begin with.

Later in the future I'll do HID's for the high/low beams, as well as some LED fog lamps probably.

I feel the same way as well, the glove box and ESPECIALLY the rear hatch stuck out like a sore thumb from the stock LED's everywhere else.

I ordered 42mm led bulbs and it looks great although they are a bit cooler (blue) than the other stock led's. (I think I noted someone else saying the same thing.)

The stock LED's are a bit warmer so this will be tough to avoid but its hard to notice unless you scrutinize it and the difference is minimal considering the difference from the yellowish regular bulbs is much greater.

The 194 bulbs fit perfect in the glove box although it was tough to grip the stock bulb.

I would recommend going with a multi-directional 194 since the the bulb is on the side of the glove box and you want to make sure it gets in there.

A top facing bulb won't work well in this scenario.

Still need to do the plate bulbs!

    GOOD LUCK!

  4. We just picked up our new 2012 Dodge Journey yesterday with the uConnect 8.4. We moved the USB stick we had in our Ford Sync system over, and noticed that any albums with multiple artists (ie Soundtracks) are listed as separate albums in the system. Has anyone else experienced this, and is there a fix? My 3-year-old throws a termpertantrum if her music isn't played in the proper order...

    Thanks,

I noticed this as well, I will play by folder since I have each album in its dedicated folder.

Only way around it that I am aware of until Chrysler decides to give us an update.

I am surprised that this issue still exists on the newer UConnect systems on the 2012 models as I have a 2011.

  5. You can't just put the bigger ones on, alot of parts are different. And they are not going to go swap rotor sizes under warr. As far as what gets the bigger ones, I have only stated what I have seen. So far ONLY R/T AWDs have I seen with the bigger ones, but we have had no crew AWDs in, so they may also have the biggers ones also, don't know. I will update as I see them. You sure yours doesn't have the bigger ones?

What is different? The rotors, calipers and pads?

  6. Yes it is a 2011 R/T AWD w/3rd row seats.

I wonder what the warranty is on the brakes, because if they go bad prematurely within that period I would request they use the updated models that are more appropriate for the vehicles size.

It is no secret that this is and has been an issue with these vehicles.

The dealer already replaces all 4 discs and pads at around 5,000 miles.

  7. Every 2012 R/T AWD I have seen HAS the big brakes. I would assume you could change up to the bigger ones, but probably wouldn't be cheap. I'm sure they went bigger as the AWD is heavier, and brakes have always been an issue on these. Dont think anyone is trying to "slip" anything in, its an improvement.

I understand it is an improvement but were talking brakes here...my AWD R/T has smaller ones and if they made them larger to make them more efficient at stopping due to the larger weight I feel a bit shorthanded and uncomfortable. I already had all of them replaced once due to squeaking.

I know they have premature wear as well and I have loads of brake dust on my wheels. I hope it is not for safety reasons.

Since you are a Chrysler tech, could you inquire on this?

    Thanks!

  8. I'll take pics when i get a chance. Mine and one at work with the smaller normal ones, but with same wheels. They are quite a bit larger, and look to be dual piston in the front. So far I have only seen the big ones on R/T AWD ones, but will watch closer to see if any other AWD have them.

    Thanks for posting the pictures!

Why do you think they did this?

What about the people who already purchased 2011 & 2012 R/T AWD's with the smaller brakes?

I wonder if this is a safety issue.

Can the smaller ones be upgraded?

I hate how manufacturers slip in these silent changes without notifying the customer.

  9. I'll take pics when i get a chance. Mine and one at work with the smaller normal ones, but with same wheels. They are quite a bit larger, and look to be dual piston in the front. So far I have only seen the big ones on R/T AWD ones, but will watch closer to see if any other AWD have them.

    Is yours AWD or FWD?

I thought in canada you can only get AWD on the R/T's.

  10. Bear in mind that HID (or any other lighting) conversions for factory-provided head, tail and marker lights are not street legal - if you get stopped by a knowledgeable officer who has no other reason to ticket you, you could wind up with an equipment violation. I decided to go with with HIR bulb replacements. They are undetectable and double the light output for less than the cost of HID and without having to modify anything.

    What are HIR bulbs?

What kind work with the Journey?

    Thanks!
