  1. I test drove a couple of Journey's and experienced a helicopter like sound when the back windows were opened.

It was killer on the ears! Now that I downloaded the manual, they actually have a section on it called "wind buffeting". Interesting, just have to break the wind pattern by opening another window (which we already knew). We actually thought it was the roof rack that was causing the problem

And, I just figured out why we couldn't put in a CD. I guess it was a 6 disc changer and I didn't push the LOAD button then put the disc in. Sheesh!

  2. Yeah, I don't think they'll find me what I want:

SXT, Blue, DVD, Nav, Flex seating, Cold weather, Conv I.

I have yet to pitch the dealers against each other yet. My current lease dealer suggests I wait till next month when there's a pull ahead. Oddly though, she's keeps on trying to sell me on the Grand Caravan again...

  3. Hey

In discussion with a dealer here, he said they require a $2500 deposit if I decide to order (ie build) my Journey.

Is that pretty typical for vehicles not currently on their lot?

What really burns me is that no one here has a vehicle near the configuration the way I want. Specially, no one has the 3rd row. Not as much of a big deal, but they also do not have anything in the 2009 blue colour.

Anyone else run into this? Obviously I get the deposit back upon acceptance of the vehicle. If I say I don't want it, they keep their $2500 and sell the vehicle to the next buyer.

    Thanks!

  4. Hey -

I test drove an R/T (it's all they had on the lot).

It had 2 rows. I'm looking at an SXT with 3 rows.

Anyone have a 3 row Journey with kids? My youngest (2 years old) can kick the back of my seat. That's how close they are. In my current Grand Caravan, he can't reach the seat. The sales guy said with the 3rd row, the 2nd row can move back about 2 inch.

Also, the test vehicle had a roof rack. We opened the back windows, and the sound was deafning! It was so loud it made my ears hurt. It only equilized the noise once I opened the front windows.

The blind spot in the drivers side is massive. You basically have to use your side mirror to look behind you. That's OK for me because I use the mirrors exclusively.

It was a mixed bag test drive. I liked how it drove, but wasn't blown away.

Anyone else have these feelings when they first drove it?

    Thanks,

    Brad

  5. the entertainment 2 package comes with the 6 disc radio that utilizes the middle knob on the radio and in the center of that knob is the black joystick. The pro with this to me is the screen is up where you want it but the con is that it has a joystick and no touch screen

Awesome pictures/explanation. That clears it up for me.

I agree the knob isn't as cool as touch screen.

In general though, can you not use the voice communication so that the knob isn't really an issue?

Do you have any insight into the rear DVD player with regards to the jacks (like headphones) as well as where the AC/Heat controls are?

    Thanks again!

  6. I can't seem to find a picture of a unit that has the nav and backup camera in the center stack.

I'm looking at ordering an almost loaded (minus sunroof) SXT; however, I read different things about the center stack.

Some places say that the backup cam is at the top of the stack, but if you have nav system, it shows at the bottom. Same with the maps and stuff.

That to me doesn't make sense, but I'd like to see it for myself.

    Thanks,

    Brad

  7. Brad,

The $1000 is a Corporate incentive and all dealers will have it. At least in my region. Go to dodge.com, shopping tools menu and look up incentives. It will ask for your zip code.

As for the lease, I have never leased, so I don't know.

    Fred

I did the website thing and they said there were none in our area. That's what the 2nd dealer said too...

  8. Hey -

Went to see 2 dealers today for an SXT:

1st guy took $1000 off MSRP (without me even asking) and would pay the last 2 months of my current Dodge lease ($892 total) 3.9%/36month lease for 21000KM's/year.

2nd guy didn't even want to give me an official quote because my lease isn't due till August (said come back about 9 weeks before it's due).

Does the 1st guy's deal look good?

Should I try the 2nd deal with a diff salesman?

    Thanks,

    Brad
