took delivery a couple days ago on a 2012 Black Pearl R/T AWD. We love it too, biggest surprise was the super confortable leather, and the metallic sparkled paint. Good buy, we love it.

Talked to customer rep at chrylser as my journey has been sitting in final inspection for two weeks. Turns out cars sometimes get selected for quality control checks and they comb over the car for an entire two weeks in checks. I guess it also has to do with getting every option as well, so they can check the build quality of it all out. I hope there is truth to this. Its bitter sweet.

According to VOTS my car was built in two weeks, but has been sitting at "final inspection status" for another two. My guess is its waiting on a train. Lulz.

My dealer won't let me apply this month's rebates to the car that I don't have yet. I'm afraid they may go away when the car gets here - is why I ask.

Ordered ours last week, Feb 5, we'll see if it takes 8 weeks to Texas.

I would be interested and see if there are any aftermarket BBK's for Avengers, and see if they fit. Most likely (and I want to do this as well) you would have to just mfg. brackets to fit a universal kit.

Did anyone pay for their car at the time of ordering, or did they HAVE to wait until the car came in?

I ordered a 2012 Journey, and they are saying I will finalize price when it comes in, and not when I order the vehicle. I negotiated a price to a certain number, and they will honor it when the vehicle comes in, but they said that, "When the vehicle comes in, you can apply whatever manufacturer rebates are available for that month." which worries me, because right now there is about 1,750 in manufacturer rebates for this month, but that may now be the case in March or April.
Is it normal for them to make you pay for an ordered vehicle only once it comes in, or are they screwing with me? I did not put anything down, I only signed a paper confirming the configuration of the vehicle I wanted (options and what not).
Appreciate any info.

We basically ordered the most expensive version of the Journey we could, minus smokers package, and a special color cost.
2012 Dodge Journey R/T AWD
Black
Black/Red Stitched Leather (standard)
Base MSRP $31,795
Options:
SunRoof $895
Trailer Prep $145
Navigation Group $995
Rear Seat Video $795
Flexible Seating $995
Second Row Boosters $225
MSRP was $36,745
Dealer Price for me $34,800 (Described as "Our price, plus $100"* )
Chrysler Retiree $1,000 off (Grandfather-in-law)
"Southwest Ally Bonus+" $750 off
"Southwest BC Retail Consumer Cash+" $1,000 off
(Total Disc 4,695)
$32050 +TTL
Because of a trade in value of $28,000, Texas will tax the remaining balance of $4,050; instead of the full 32,050, so my TTL was around $700.
~32800 Out the Door.
A lot for a Journey, I know, but it sure is a sweet Journey, and we didn't like the Durango in this price range compared to a loaded Journey, and the GMC Acadia with our options ended up at 43k range.
*He said that this was their price to order the vehicle, plus $100, and I concurred as they ordered it on their system in front of me. Do they actually a get cheaper price from the manufacturer than this with Dealer pricing and discount? Almost assuredly.
+Both of these are listed on Dodge's website when you build a vehicle with the zipcode 77708, and I assume are rebates that apply to the Southwest region of the US because of weak sales for Dodges as Texas tends to buy Ford.

It would appear that the only difference in the USDM R/T and Canadian R/T Rallye is that the USDM R/T can come in either AWD or FWD. Canadian R/T Rallye is only AWD.
