  1. AS of yet, I haven't had any issue with forgetting the fob anywhere. In fact, it never leaves my coat pocket... Theres been a couple times that I'm so used to not even needing a key that I just try to get in without having my keys LOL

Problem I have been having is sometimes when I am dropping my kids off at varoius places I tend to leave the keys in the car with it running as it is just a min sitting... BUT, it turns out my sweet dog has figured out how to press the lock button on the arm rest. That does not alot of good for me. But he aswell knows how to press the window down button and the unlock at various times. I have gotten into the habit of removeoing the key out of the end of the fob as I get out of the car for this reason. lol

  2. Thanks guys! That is some great info and exactly what I was looking for!

It is starting to get cold up here so I had better start on it soon in the driveway or the snow will stop anything from happening untill spring. I have it figured out as to what I am going to do with the leftovers from other projyects sitting on the shelf that I can use to build what I would like to have under it. I hope I dont end up with a drone but I never had a drone under my 06 Durando with the 50 series Flowmaster that I pulled out of it. I do believe it is a 2 1/2" pipe dumping down from the cat and that is the inlet of the muffler I have so it is all looking good from here. I will post what I manage to get done as soon as I get under it.

    Thanx again!

    Vic

  3. Is it an AWD?

No, it has the room where the AWD tunnel would be so there is quite alot of room.

I am really wondering if anyone has done any aftermarket installs of systems and what they have done for exhaust mods. I dont want to end up with a droning sound inside of the car but I would like a good sound out the back ofcoarse. I have allways used Flowmaster but I dont know how it would/will sound on the Journey and was hopeing somebody might have done this in here. I know it is just "A family car" but sometimes we need them to be diffrent. hehe.... I have aswell had a 06 Durango and a 05 Magnum which both were Hemi powered and I had done the Flowmaster systems to them. I guess I should just do this to the Journey and get it over with but I was just wondering if anyone has played with this mod in here.

    Thanx ya'll!!!!

  4. Hi just purchased a used 2010 DODGE JOURNEY SXT (LHD/AWD)

My first question is on the window sticker:

    it says:

    Customer Preferred Package 28T

    Flexible Seating Group $ 995

    Second-Row 40 / 60 Tilt 'N Slide Seat

    Third-Row 50 / 50 Fold / Reclining Seat

    Rear A/C & Heater with 3-Zone

    Temperature Control

is everything listed under the preferred package what is in it? or is there more to that?

thanks in advance for the clarification.

    Kent

    Hey there Kent!

    Welcome to the list! I did a google on the 28t package and found;

Customer Preferred Package 28T, Convenience Group I, Uconnect Phone with Voice Command, Adjustable Roof Rail Crossbars, Driver & Passenger Lower LED Lamps, Front and Rear Aimable LED Lamps, Remote Start System, Auto-Dimming Rearview Mirror with Microphone, Universal Garage Door Opener, Flexible Seating Group, Second-Row 40 60 Tilt ‘N Slide Seat, Third-Row 50 50 Fold Reclining Seat, Rear AC & Heater with 3-Zone Temperature Control plus all the standard features

Sounds exactly like what mine is. Enjoy the ride!

  5. Has anyone done any exhaust mods other than putting on new fancy exhaust tips?

I have been looking underneeth of the car and it looks pretty basic. I have a Flowmaster muffler sitting here doing nothing. It is a single in and duel out and I am looking at putting it right unter the car where the stock resinator is in the center of the floor tunnel and then running duel pipes out the rear the stock way unter the car exiting out the normal slots under the bumper. It looks to me as it is an easy removal and would be a basic slip on for the muffler and possably very easy to run pipes out the back with very little mods to bending or oter things. Hanging it looks to be the hardest thing and that is easy with sme bent ready rod welded to the pipes.

    Anyone?....

  6. I been looking at buying a used DJ but most I read is bad about them.

I know most of the time what most pepole will wite is whats bad not the good so take wht you hear with a grain of salt.

So what is the real skinny about the DJ is a good car or realy junk.

Is there better years to get and which year to stay away from.

Is the 3.5 or the 3.9 motor a better deal I had a 3.5 in my 2006 1500 ram it was under powered but I thinlk the truck just weighted to much for the motor.

I have a 2001 Ford expendition now that get 13 MPG on a good day it a nice car but it's time for a newer car.

And I have read mixed on MPG on the DJ whats the truth.

    Hey there Marvin!

Not alot bad to say about my DJ. I am quite happy with it. I know what I would by diffrent but it would not be the car its self. Just options I would add to it.

Good car in my books. I went from a 2006 Durango Hemi to the 2010DJ due to my Durango being taken from me in a auto accident. To me the only thing missing is the power... All else is great. I went with buying a used one so I escentially had no chice in options it had. All I want to add the cold start option to mine. That essintially is all I feel I need to add to it. Would like more power but I guess I am stuck with the 183hp it has which is ok for now. As for yout 1500Ram... Big problem with that small motor but is is a diffrent animal in the Journey. If I were in your shoes, I would go to the dealer and test drive the snot out of them! See what kinda deal they would give you on trade for the Ferd. I probably doubled my milage going from the 5.7Hemi to the Journey. I avarage 550km on 60L of fuel. Have never sat and worked out the milage I am getting but I really am happy with how it is so I am not worried about it.

Hope this might help you alittle.

  7. Wheel specs,

    16" +40mm offset

    Backspaceing 5.43"

    Lug pattren 5x127 = 5x5"

What I have found is 08 up Grand Caravan uses the same wheel

99 up Jeep Grand Cherrokee "Limited" uses the same lug but no steel wheel avalable aftermarket. Various aftermakret larger wheel uses the same specs.

This is what I have been able to come up with. Anyone have more to add?

  8. I think I am going to be looking for a retailer that offers the OEM rims... I spoke with the dealership today about the cost of the 16" rims, I was quoted $125 each for the steel rims.... Which is on sale from the regular price of $160 ohmy.gif

How is your search going? I am in the same process of looking for wheels for mine. I am reading the 99 Jeep Grand chreokee has the same wheel but am unable to fine the offset of the stock wheel on one. Aswell, I believe the Grand Caravan is the same but once again am not sure of the offset.

Please post what you have found.

    Thanx
