I have the same issue with mine not fitting correctly on the 2011 with the newer front fascia....we have left it as is for now with the gaps. its not too horribly noticeable but I am hoping that Dodge will come out with a new part number that actually fits the 2011, I'm not wanting to start hacking away at my car! LOL

So I don't have any picts to load up but I have a black 2011 R/T so I am thinking about having the partial stripe across the hood and front fender with the R/T logo at the bottom of it just like some of the new Challenger and Nitro's have.....thinking about getting it done in red so it will match the red interior stitching....thoughts or opinions??

I used this stuff called Plasti Dip. Its a rubberized spray on coating in a can. Goes on like spray paint, really durable once dry, and you can peel it off and restore the wheels if needed. Only prep needed is to wash the wheels and tape off the tires. and it's $5.99 a can. Cost me $18 to do all four rims.
Plasti Dip is awesome!! Hubby used it on his Nissan Titan rims and it looks great! I'm debating on doing mine black as well....yours turned out great!

Another post got me thinking about what Dodge has done to the Journey R/T in the US market for 2011. In Canada, it's the top trim level/price class. This is consistent with the 40+ year heritage of the R/T which has always been the top trim & performance level for any model wearing the R/T moniker.
R/T was introduced in 1966 on the Coronet, and up until the end of the real muscle era in '71, R/T always meant premium trim and more importantly, top drivetrain and suspension performance. R/T disappeared for years but resurfaced in the 90's. But until recently, the performance aspect was sidelined and they marketed braking, suspension, appearance and interior upgrades for the R/T line. Only until they reintroduced the Hemi did they put R/T back in the true performance bracket (and subsequently, SRT).
So even the US 2010 Journey R/T was at the top of its echelon, but the 2011 model has it three trims (and thus equipment) below, behind Crew and Lux. I don't understand this, but I think it's a bit of a slap in the face to R/T heritage, especially when they've maintained status quo with the other current models (Charger, Challenger).
I in some way agree with this. NOTHING against anyone who owns another year or model of the Journey or any other Dodge vehicle, but I bought the R/T because I have always loved what it stood for. I looked at purchasing the Crew model because it was basically the same as the R/T except for the R/T has the red accents and stitching in the seats. What does disappoint me is that the Crew and R/T are basically the exact same package even down to the rims!! I really wish the Crew had different rims from the R/T. IMO the R/T should stand out a little more from the other models aside from just having an R/T badge slapped on them which anyone can add. However I will say that I have owned my Journey since May and I am still absolutely LOVING it!!! I am so ready to have it paid off so I can by a R/T Challenger!! LOL

One thing that I really like is when you shift from D into manual (and vise-versa), cruise stays engaged. Useful for hills.
Yes, this is very helpful on hills when you don't want your car to keep downshifting..I use mine quite a bit!

Does anyone have any experience with having "paintless dent repair" done to their vehicle? I have a couple of dents from the hail storm that the insurance adjuster says can be fixed by PDR, but I dont beleive him...
Ouch!!! Poor car!! That looks painful! Sorry that happened, there is nothing worse than having a new vehicle and it gets hailed on! Been there and done that, its not fun!!

I rarely ever seen any Journey's where were are in Oklahoma since buying mine in May. I have seen a few older ones and so far only have seen 2 new ones with the newer front fascia....1 white in town with TX plates, and then husband saw one down the road from where he works identical to mine except for no window tint or mud flaps ....I kinda like being an individual right now, its fun!

I have a 2011 Journey Mainstreet that was bought brand new and just hit 5000 miles. I'm having some issues and wondering if anyone else has had similar problems. The first thing I noticed is that at times the car has a rough idle and the idle also sticks at roughly 1000 - 1100 rpms which is enough to pull the car forward while coming to a stop. The next and most annoying thing is when I turn on my left turn signal my windshield wipers make one pass and cut off. The wipers do the same thing after a right turn when the signal arm returns to the off position. It seems to do it more on hotter days also. My wife took the car to the dealership while I was working but they basically blew her off and said everything was fine and normal so I will be taking it back myself when I have the time. Just wondering if others have had similar experiences.
I had this same problem with a 2007 Charger. I can't remember exactly what had to be replaced but it was something electrical and it was covered under warranty. Don't let your dealer blow you off! Sorry I don't have more information, but I hope this helps!

i'm sorry to hear, but i have to say, unfortunately you are on the dark side of things. Your little self could of got a loaded 2011 journey that's tons better than a ford edge. the 2011 is 20 years of 2009-10. TRUST ME, I HAD A 2010 JOURNEY SE 2.4, IT WAS a great car, did what i asked it, but quality and ride were not there. the 2011 is so quiet. look at all of dodge's 2011 lineup. i see that you bought the edge, that's great, but just for me, go to a dealership and test out the 2011 journey, you will be blown away by the quality and 8.4N touchscreen. heck test drive the 2011 charger, any 2011 car, you'll fall in love.
I'M SORRY CHRYSLER, BUT BECAUSE OF THESE LAST 10 YEARS OF POOR CARS, IT'S HARD TO MAKE PEOPLE CONVERT BACK WHEN THE 2011'S ARE ALL REFINED AND ARE LOADS CHEAPER THAN ANY COMPETITOR OUT THERE. i don't blame you though, i blame the last 10 years of chrysler. I'd be willing to bet you wouldn't be blown away by the 2011 journey. just for me man, test drive that thing so i can get my point across. the sound deadening, the price, the power, the features(most standard) the smoothness yet firmness of the suspension, it blew me away. I hate to see people leave mopar, but the 2011 is totally changed for chrysler, I know you would love the 2011. you can get so many more features than the edge with such less money.
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, it's so hard to convince people, I can't express what chrysler has done in 2011, probably the biggest automotive turnaround in history. I could write a 5 page essay on how the 2011 would blow you away, but i feel i don't need to do that when you can test drive it and you will know what I mean.
remember people, this was the company that was in bankruptcy and was about to die. look at the cars they're putting out now, it's amazing. I hope you read this post man, just test drive the 2011 so I know you know what chrysler has done in 2011. just mind boggling insane and crazyy.
IT'S CRAZY, WHAT THEY'VE CHANGED.
I couldn't have said it better! There is just no way to explain how cool the car is, it explains it for itself! I think Dodge really out did themselves with their whole new line of 2011 vehicles! I have to say though that 1 bad experience with a dealer or even brand of car can really ruin it for you...it happened to me with my Toyota Camry. I will say that before you knock the new Dodge line up you need to at least test drive one, or several! LOL Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but seriously the new Journey kicks butt!! We even drove a 2010 Ford Edge before buying the 2011 Journey and the Journey has way more features and just over all look and comfort miles beyond the Edge did....especially for the price of the Journey you just can't beat what you get! =)

has anyone else notice the mid year body changes to the 2011 Journey? I have one of the newer models and I love the changes
The changes really do make a difference!! I have the new body and I think my car was built in April, so I'm not sure when the changes were made but I like it!!

DJ11, definitely post back with what they say. It's been widely reported that there currently is no way to select a playlist. You can only select Artist/Album/Song.
I have noticed the issue that they song will play from the beginning as well, and if you're on shuffle, it will revert back to the beginning and replay the songs in the exact same order.
I have noticed the same thing about it starting a song from the beginning...it gets annoying! LOL
Chrysler had no answers for us about there not being a folder or playlist for the ipod...my only hope now is that they come out with some sort of software upgrade to fix it. So far no other issues!
-
Yeah my wifes ipod does the exact same thing. My ipod doesnt even work because its too old. I dont lknow why you can play playlists.
We called the Chrysler customer help number and are supposed to be getting a call back....will let you know if we find anything out...

LOVE the Charger picts!! I owned a 2007 which I loved! I have to say it was one of the most comfortable cars I have owned...other than my Journey now of course! LOL
When looking at the Journey we also test drove a 2011 white Charger with what I call peanut butter brown leather interior...very, very sweet ride!! Hubby didn't care for it but I loved it!
Can't wait to see picts of your Journey when it comes in....I have not seen any mango tango ones yet!

** Reviving the post **
I know in Canada it's #1 - so you probably see a whole lot driving around.
But what about the the United States?
I've only seen 1 in the Atlanta, GA area in the past 4 months. (I've been looking pretty hard too).
We just picked up my 2011 Black R/T a week ago and have not seen 1 new 2011 Journey on the road anywhere yet! The dealer we bought from had 3 others on the lot (white, red, and silver) but they were not the R/T package. They also said that our black one was the first R/T they got in and they have a red on on order...I am hoping to not see any black ones around for awhile! LOL
We also get alot of looks on the road by people I'm sure wondering what the heck we are driving!
-
They look great!! You did an awesome job! Congrats!
-
I never thought of the parking lot thing. thanks for the info
The parking lot comment was great! I would have never thought of that either! BTW, did you ever have the bars installed? I have thought about having some put on mine for looks but I am also having mud flaps installed tomorrow and I didn't know how a bar would fit with them on....also if you had the bars put on picts would be great!!

very nice, looks great, i love people who post pics, and for those that don't
Awesome..thanks for looking!!

so are there any problems with the uconnect voice command w/bluetooth, because that's one option i did order, will i encounter any problems. ??????????
I have had my Journey for almost a week and have had NO problems with the VC or BT which came with mine. Hopefully we will not have any issues! I have noticed that the shuffle on the Ipod does tend to repeat the same songs alot. Also I do not have an option to play folders from my Ipod but I haven't heard of anyone else with that problem yet.
-
I have a 2011 R/T with the 8.4N Uconnect touch screen. When I am using my Ipod there is no option to play the folders from my Ipod. Also I have noticed that when I am using my Ipod, then turn the car off for awhile then start it back up the last song that was playing starts from the beginning...seems weird to me, I have never had a vehicle that did this. Has anyone else had these "problems" or have heard of it??

Check out the picts of my 2011 Black R/T Journey!!
-
Congrats on the R/T. I'm also another fellow Okie with a 2011, Mainstreet, not R/T. I grew up in Oklahoma and joined the Army in 2005 so I move around a lot, currently in Colorado, but getting out in the next months so possibly moving back home, depending on job opportunities.
Congrats on the new Journey as well! I am LOVING mine! Just took her out for her first road trip today and we averaged 25 mpg with wind and hills! We also looked at a Crew but I just loved the red and black interior on the R/T too much to not go with it...especially since the price was the same! LOL
-
What were the names of your previous vehicles? Why did you name your journey roxanne? LOL
I never named any of my previous vehicles...I guess they just didn't deserve one! LOL I just love my Journey and felt she needed to be called more than just "the car"...check her out at

Family car but not minivan! LOL You have to have something to set them apart....ours is a family vehicle too but we are both into sporty and beefy vehicles so hubby is ok with whatever I want to do with it!! Plus the fact that he thinks its sooo funny to say that ever minivan we see he says "look there's another journey...oh wait its a minivan" haha not very funny I say! So to that I say go with the stripes! When you get the weather to put yours on a pict would be cool BTW I will trade you our daily 110 temps with NO rain for your fog and rain! LOL
