I agree with redtomatoman. Don't kill the messenger, they were just trying to help. I hope this forum doesn't turn out like so many others where they start off nice and polite and after a while they turn ugly and mean.

Mine is always between 600-625.

Here is what the dealer did. Performed capacitive discharge and updated amplifier software. While there they did two other RRTs. 11-078, reprogrammed cabin compartment module, 11-082,reprogrammed body control module. I had the BCM reprogrammed about a year ago but the service writer said this was an update for the starting issues(dead battery).

Taking my 2011 Lux in tomorrow for the same problem. tried to unhook the amp but could only get one plug loose. Dodn't want to break something and then have the dealer say the warranty was void. It is still under warranty so let them fix it.

Had my 2011 Lux BCM flashed back in July and did not have a dead battery problem until just the other day and sure enough went out to start the car and it was dead. Jumped the battery and it has been working fine. The big question is when will be the next time??

I think TeamBedlam has it right. You get the deal you signed up for but if there are better rebates when the car comes in you can take that rebate instead. That was the way my deal worked.

Like you say it is going to take some getting used to from I have experienced so far. Seems like a lot of posts have disappeared.

Check your gas cap. If it isn't on tight your check engine light will come on. Happens all the time on my 2005 Dodge Ram if I'm not careful putting the cap on after a fill up. The code says it is an EGR valve when this happens.

Well that was my Dad's choice because he thought the dealership would be honest with us, and also because if we didn't buy it that day we would lose all our deals. Well this has never happened to us before, I'm sure my dad has learnt the lesson. But we're quite happy with what we got though, because the dealership gave us a 5.0" GPS, roof cross bars, free doc fees etc, and employee pricing. Great car nonetheless~
Based on what I just read, don't let your dad give you advice where to invest your retirement!

When we got the 2011 the battery went dead four time the first couple of months. We also heard that it might be due to the auto function. Turned it off but still had a dead battery. Heard we might be leaving the key fob too close to the car in the garage and that could do it. Move the fob away from the car, still dead battery. Took it to the dealer and they flashed the Body Control Module (BCM) and have not had a problem in 6 months. They said it had something to do with the system going into sleep mode but not turning completely off. There is information about that flash on this site. Check all dead battery posts and you will find it.

Yah, I was inept. Inept for not studying every snippet of car literature available like a med school exam. Inept for thinking that Chrysler would operate at the ethical level of other car companies I have dealt with over the years. My bad. I for one am not so quick to rationalize away their deceptive sales practices. Chrysler has lost me as customer. To hell with them.
Don't feel too bad because something similar happened to me too. I looked at a 2011 Lux on the lot with the old bumper style and liked it and thought I ordered one like it. When mine came in it had the new style bumper. At first I was pissed but have since decided it was the best look of the two.

The dealer in question here is Woodbone Chrysler in Markham Ontario. And to clarify how I came to this point. I did buy the car off the lot and did see the 4" uconnect screen in the car. What i did not know until after I took possession was that the R/T model was supposed to have the 8' screen as standard equipment. There was no indication on the vehicle sticker of a price reduction to highlight the change or account financially for the switch. My salesman was very inept so I'm not surprised he didn't either know or just witheld that bit of info to make sale. I understand that an organization can have supply issues. What I can't tolerate is the deception and the unwillingness to correct the situation after the fact. Toyota and Honda get customer service, Why can't Chrysler?
Sorry but it sounds like someone besides the salesman was inept.

''It's possible, but I've never seen them mentioned, even on the Lux trim. The review vehicle was a Crew.
I have a 2011 Lux that is loaded and it does not have that feature.

I had the TSB done on my 2011 Lux back in July and haven't had a problem since. They flashed the body control module.

Started up the Journey this morning to leave for work, and the EVIC system lite up like a christmas tree warning for low KPA, the two left side tires were at 209, the two right side tires were at 199 and were yellow with the warning. After driving for a bit, 3 of the 4 tires were up to 227 but the back right was at 220 and the two right sides were still both yellow. Could this be a sensor problem or acutally low pressure?
I have found that if a tire has a 2 pounds or more differential the light comes on. Fill it to match the others and the light goes off. It does take a couple of minutes for the light to go off after you have filled the tire.

Do you all drive with the ESC/ESP on or off most of the time. This is the first car that I have had with this feature but not sure if it should be on all the time or just in wet or snow conditions.

I wonder if a Aero Turbine muffler would work. It is relative small and sounds great on my ram 1500 hemi.

Was the Cayman setting on the shoulder of the road?

Good report. Looking forward to my first long trip now that I have read your review.

Fortunately I haven't had a problem with the radio but have had the A/C temp. control go up from what I had it set on. This was the first sign that the battery was going to be dead the next morning. Once I had the TSB for the battery issue done I haven't had a problem with the climate control or the battery.

Having a PT Cruiser in the first place kind of explains things,

I got my 2011 from a dealer in London, ON and also have free oil changes and tire rotations for 3 years. I get 4 oil changes and 2 tire rotations/year!
I haven't seen a letter about this program. Do all 2011 Lux owners get it?

Oops, forgot to say from south florida.

Get them to flash the Body Control Module(BCM). That seems to take care of the problem.
