Could not get my Journey to respond to two FOBs last night.

Was out with my wife last night. I went to start the car from a distance and when I got to the car - it was not running. Would not remote start while standing in front of it.

Could not unlock the doors or start the car with either key fob. There was battery power since I could see the "alarm on indicator flashing red".

I walked around the car clicking the FOBs to see if I could get the thing to respond. Even placed the FOB on the rear radio antenna. (DOES ANY ONE KNOW WHERE THE ANTENNA FOR THE FOB RECEPTION IS LOCATED????).

Next step was to use the valet key. As expected, the alarm went off, but I put the FOB in the ignition and the car started and the alarm ceased.

I shut the car and went out side. Both FOBs locked and started the car now. Apparently what ever was the problem was reset.

Several years ago, while shopping at a store in the Needham MA. area - located near a bunch of TV broadcast towers - I could not get my Ford to unlock.

The parking lot last night had a cell phone antenna set-up on the side of the building.

Not sure if this was an inteference problem with the radio signals or a glitch in the Journey's system.

Sunroof drains do appear to be a problem. I don't have a sunroof on my R/T and havn't had any damp carpets, so hopefully the door seals on these seem to be okay.

dealer cleared blocked drain tube in side piller, now to see if it clogs in future

Same question as above. The drain tubes run right down the front pillar. Just before I took mine into the shop AGAIN for a leaky sunroof I noticed water on the lower kick panel and door jamb. Could be the drain hose has a hole in it.

:D here's a new one, my drivers footwell is saturated like someone pored a gallon of water in it. it rained a few days ago and i only noticed it when i removed rubber mat to vacuum. passenger footwell bone dry, anyway dealer is providing a loaner tomorrow and will investigate.....

I haven't figured this key thing out yet. The "valet" key sets off the alarm and you need the fob to shut it off. The valet key won't start the car, and it is attached to the keyfob. So what is the chance that if you lock your keys in the car, that you would remember to remove the valet key and put it in your pocket?

i have taped a valet key to roof bars, black on black, done it for years now no one has ever noticed it

well, after 10 months and 10,000km's my tire pressure warning light came on. I stopped at my local mechanic , used little wrench in tool kit to remove an air pressure cap, it snapped off and tire deflated in 5 seconds.

paid mechanic $20 to put a conventional valve on.

I guess I will have dealer replace original valve and advise me how to remove these caps.

Well, after this first real cold snap in Toronto, my windows would not go down yesterday or today. I only took short 15 min. drives either day. Dealer has been advised.

7 months and 9000 KM's, and car is great so far other than hood cowl rattle at HWY speed which I have not had fixed yet.

Anyone other cold weather Journeys encountering this.

I have a problem where I can turn the key to acc and all my lights and everything come on but when I go to the run position it does nothing like it is dead. One time the auto start started teh car but the other two I had to jump it. I found out it is the WIN Module and they ordered mine last week. It is on back order until 12-12-08. I keep mine in a garage and seem to have the problem when it got cold and let the car sit for a day without driving it.

I have 26000 klm's & will probably need pads @ 30000 klms as my pads are worn also-but they are wearing evenly

seems a bit like premature wear to me . I would get a second opinion, sounds like maybe should be replaced now!

still just 6000 on mine.

hmmmm...... "tiny drain pipe used to drain the roof" this is my first sunroof. I have heard the stories. my plan has been to, from time to time, clean area that roof slides into . which quadrant would the tiny drain pipe be in? any thoughts on routine sunroof maintenance,if any?

I've noticed the connection of tailpipe to exhaust tip has rusted in my 3 month old sxt. your comments?

a rear seat passenger noted that the front end of the second row seat rails are tough on heels as opposed to front rails. a dodge rep reading this may wish to make note.

car running flawlessly after 4500 km and rattle upper middle console seems to have gone away.

I also have the same noise. I only noticed it during my trip while cruising between 110 - 120 km/h. It almost sounds like wind blowing across something causing it to vibrate.

I will look into it when I get home.

dealer confirmed today tires are nitrogen filled. air can be added for life of tire. if air is added when needed, dealer can remove air and add nitrogen. My dealer will do this no charge. though nitrogen probably marginally improves tire life and fuel economy i will simply add air as needed.

Oh yes, it does have the full ATC and I am beside myself.

$50 coupon is good for any mopar part at the parts counter. u would use the cust. service line normally for warranty issues. two seperate things, sheesh.

Yes, phone chrysler canada customer care at 1 800 465 2001 and they will send u a mopar credit good at parts counters for $50. they will give u a customer care # . they advised that their main purpose is to help, if a customer has warranty issues with a dealer.

I have called the dealership and Dodge but no one can tell me if it is designed this way. I can be driving down the road and bump the shifter and it will go right into reverse or park. What is stupid is that I can't bump it into the auto-shift or whatever its called. I have to move the shifter over to get it to go into the area I can manually control the gears.

Bumping it into that auto-shift range will do NO harm but it could drop your tranny if you are doing over 10 MPH and slam it into park or reverse.

I assume it is only my vehicle that does this right?

BTW: I have the 6 cyl. AWD with 6 speed tranny.

Does your Journey allow you to just push the gear shift straight into park without any hesitation even when you are stopped or do you have to stop and move the shifter over to continue?

Mine literally has no hesitation going from drive to park.

And it DOES do it while moving. That's how I found out. 5 mph and it got nocked into reverse! Screeching halt!

I just need to know if they all do this or is it just mine. The dealers have no clue since they don't have any on the lot to test.

Picked up mine on friday and we love it. The only thing that I noticed is in the back where you can remove the covering and have more storage the material is pretty cheap. I put the stroller in the back and it left some noticeable grooves in the material. I decided to purchase the molded cargo tray which is 59.99 and it will be in on tuesday. It will make it easier as well to clean any messes as I can just vaccuum the plastic or clean it with the hose by removing it from the journey.

Other than that we love it. I didn't get the mygig that I wanted but I love the fact there are 6 discs and I can put all my mp3's on one disc right now and using the list button I can scroll down by artist. The only thing that I noticed is that as soon as you hit the artist it starts to play the first song in the directory.....I was hoping I could go down a level and then select the song....but I can deal with that.

yes . i will get molded tray too as i like the extra room for the golf clubs

Sorry to hear your Journey is further delayed Rob, but it sure sounds like they had to start over and rebuild yours. That is no doubt a good thing if there was a major problem with the orginal VIN. My VIN ends with 436 so it was only 31 vehicles ahead of yours and it has been in my driveway for a week and a half now.

I still haven't seen another Journey on the road since I received mine. I may have to take a trip up the Valley to see Snow_Runner's besides my roof could do with new shingles as well and since he is experienced!!!

By the way, the recommended air pressure is 24 LBs but mine came with 33 LBs which is approximately what I would run anyway. I plan to switch to Nitrogen in the near future at which time I will run at 34 LBs pressure. I run Nitrogen in my Grand Caravan and the pressure stays constant for at least a year.

It sounds like your dealer is doing everything possible Rob so hang in there.
