  1. Any chance you could post a few pics of it on your Journey?

    Here are some pics

#1 : Pic of the installed Deflector

#2 : Pic of one of the 4 screws that needs drilling into the hood. Actually you need to drill a hole, then put a plastic plug into the hole. That plastic plug will receive the screw. There is also two more screws (visible from the outside of the deflector), those screws are screwed into some kind of brackets that are hold in place without drilling.

  2. The kmh/mph issue is resolved through a flash update. I posted the info in the thread in the interior forum on the last page.

I've started following Chrysler communications on FB as a result of this post as that's where it was posted from :D Thanks @ SaskGuy!

Well to bad it is not related to the EVIC problem... but anyways its good news! :D

Will have to annoy chrysler mechanic (once again) about the EVIC flash. sighhh.

  3. Hi,

In case anyone is considering adding a front air deflector to his journey, don't make it install at the dealer (unless you're really bad with tools).

They charge about 100$ + tx for that and it took me about 20 minutes by doing it really carefully. For sure you will need to drill 4 holes on the inside of the hood but it ts done easily.

By the way, I strongly suggest to install a deflector, after only 2 months I already had 3 rocks chips on my hood.

If anyone have any question on the procedure, just ask! :)

  4. I went to the dealer today to fix a problem with the Vr/Bluetooth and asked for the flash update also. The guy said that there are no update available for my vehicule. I insisted and told him to check about "garbled text update", He did not found anything. Then he called tech support and they said that something was coming about that but nothing available yet. Arrghhh.

He updated my PCM module though but it was not specifying what it was fixing.

will ask again for the update on my next oil change

  5. Hi all,

Possibly a new owner of a 2011 Dodge Journey Crew here in Toronto, Canada. I wanted to inquire and see if anyone can confirm if the CREW model has a hard drive built in to the 8.4 touch screen model? If so, does anyone know the capacity? I believe the Crew pkg I looked at did not come with the Uconnect option if that helps anyone.

I was told by the salesman about this, but couldn't really tell given we didn't explore the feature too much. I was then told that we could watch movies on this screen, only in park though. Can anyone confirm this that if I was to upload a video file, avi, mp4, or even a DVD, it will play?

    Thanks in advance!

I can confirm that there is no hard drive, only a SD Card reader, but it supports SDHC cards up to 64 Gb, which is more than enough IMO.

I know it can read mp3 from the SD card but never tried video files though. But I can confirm that the disc player reads DVD's only on park.

  6. This is the fuses according to the manual. I took a look and didnt see any called that but you might as well check it out.

    Fuse Name and Loaction

I have found another UserManual on the ChryslerCanada website :

    http://www.chryslercanada.ca/owners/en/manuals/2011/2011%20JC%20Journey.pdf

This one clearly refers to the IOD Fuse, but doesn't say which one it is.

On page 379 it says :

    VEHICLE STORAGE

If you will not be using your vehicle for

more than 21 days you may want to take

steps to preserve your battery. You may:

    • Remove the IOD (Ignition Off-Draw)

    mini-fuses from the Totally Integrated

Power Module located in the engine

    compartment.

    • Or, disconnect the battery negative

    cable.

  7. That's the problem... i can't delete it because i can't access the phone menu in the car. i hit the button and it beeps and lights up, but it won't go to the phone menu.

Hey, that is sooooo weird. I was about to post the exact same issue!!!

I got my R/T 4 weeks ago and this morning I realized my Bluetooth wasn't working anymore. The VR is also not working. Like you, I am unable to go in the bluetooth menu in the config.

Anybody has a clue, or does anybody know how to reset the system?

  8. HI,

Today, I washed my new 2011 Journey R/T for the first time. But a really unpleasant surprise was awaiting me...

When I washed the Chrome wheels, it sounded like cheap plastic as I was blasting water through them. After a close inspection, THOSE ARE NOT REAL CHROME WHEELS!!!! Its just a plastic over the actual rim (like a cheap hubcap). The dealer never told me that. I am really frustrated, even more after thinking I paid 500$ for that "supposed" upgrade. I think this is a TOTAL RIPOFF from dodge.

Actually, I even think it's a downgrade from the standard alluminum mags.

In the next two years, that plastic chrome will probably then will have scratches, dents ans loss of shine (like really cheap faucets).

  9. I also heard of that software update is available for the LED lights, but I don't know if I have the fixed version or not... Is there any way to know?

I aksed the dealer for a 2" hitch... He said 466$ (installed) plus taxes!!!! WOW, that is expensive! I can get an "Hidden Hitch" installed for less than half the price somewhere else! :S. Is there any advantages of going with the Mopar one?

THe dealer also told me that we cannot convert the 4 Pin to a 7 Pin! :o Is that true? I don't believe it! I would really be disapointed. I'll keep searching.

  10. I totally agree with everything been said by drb227. I would also add the following :

    UConnect advantages :

    - The UConnect can be used with gloves, not the myFord touch.

    - MYFord touch is really not as user friendly as UConnect.

    MyFord Touch advantages :

    - MyFord touch updates can be downloaded and installed by the owner (through the usb port). For UConnect you need to go to the dealer (that sucks :S)

    - MyFord touch has 2 monitors on the dash, UConnect only one (the EVIC center).

    - The buttons on the steering wheel of the myFOrd touch are greatly disposed and easy to use. The UConnect EVIC buttons are disposed awkwardly and not natural.

  11. I own a 2011 R/T AWD Journey, with the trailer prep. When I bought it I wasn't really aware that there was different connectors for towing, so I didn't bother checking that out.

Now I'd like to tow a travel trailer (about 3200lbs) that requires a 7 Pin connector.

I know there is some 4Pin to 7Pin converter on the market, but you still have to plug the remaining 3 pins. As I understand it; 1 is for brakes, 1 for the battery and 1 for the ground.

    - The battery connection is probably easy since there is a 12 volt connector on the back

    - Ground connection is (probably) the frame of the car

    - Now for the brakes is there an easy way to connect it at the back?

Anyone already did that or have more info?

    Thanks

  12. Hi, I'm from Montreal too...

My dealer said to me that we cannot order black, Blackberry pearl and Red colors anymore. He also said that the 8.4" Screen has been replaced by the 4.3". All that because of parts coming from Japan are on shortage.

So I rushed my purchased for finding one that was already on a dealer lot. I got it last week; a black R/T fully loaded. and I love it! :)

I suggest you do the same thing I did.

  13. Hi,

I've read your story and its really sad to see that dealers don't really care about you after they made the sale.

I would've been really frustrated to see that the BT and VC are not part of the car I bought.

By the way the BlueTooth works greatly, excellent communication (in booth ways) even when on highway at 120kmh. Hope for you that the Mopar you got works as well as the stock one :/

You should forward all that to Chrysler Canada to let them know how bad your service was!
