Had battery failure once. Dealer did a software update & no other problems for 2 years.

Thanks, I will pass along and see what dealer has to say.

Don't know if this is the same thing but my 2011 Journey has front end binding noises whenever I break moderately/firmly at a stop sign etc. The dealer replaced the front pads but no change. I was asked to drive it for a week & get back to them. The dealer doesn't know what's wrong but says drive it & let us know!!!! Have to re-think my dealer.

Hello and thanks for the post. I was just quoted $3000.00 taxes included. Which province and part of Canada do live in? I've got bad vibes now about my selection of dealer in southwestern Ontario.

Your dealer did NOT inform you properly. You may be able to have your contract adjusted. Did you know that you can cancel your plan and get a full refund within the first 60 days? (It is mentioned in the brochure.) If you got no discount your dealer made 100% profit on his investment and will likely work with you to change the plan to save his profit.
Perhaps you could cancel and then join the buyer's group, though before doing that I suggest checking with Chrysler (not your dealer) to see if you can repurchase the warranty if you cancel . . . . is yours even Mopar's product at all? (which could explain why you weren't offered 7/115.)
I was quoted $2145 for 7/115 bumper-to-bumper by one local dealer . . .. . . I drive about 15K/year, so that works for me personally - they offer programs for up to 7/160 as well and other plans with coverage to 5/200.
A 7/115 'basic' (power train only) would be plan 486 according to the brochure. As a 'Gold' (bumper-to-bumper), it would be plan 419, 7/160 would be the 410 - apparently you can't extend the 'Gold+' (Bumper-to-bumper with maintenance) past 5 years, though it can go to 160,000 km.
Here is a link to the current brochures (too bad they don't include retail pricing for these plans in them):

As others have commented, great job etc. You have done a great job integrating the Garmin GPS into the car.
I do have a question though, do you have to drive around with the cover open so that the GPS will find the satellites?
The OEM Navteq in my Journey and everyone elses's is lacking, IMHO and from personal experience the Garmin is a vast improvment over the OEM Navteq. I have a Garmin Nuvi 255 that seems to have much better maps than the Journey's Navteq maps. I paid for the lifetime upgrades ($120) for my Garmin and I get updates 4x per year. I recently just bought a onetime Navteq upgrade ($200) for my vehicle and it's map is not as new as the Garmin. I live in a new area of my city, the Garmin map shows my streets while the Navteq map doesn't. I am quite familiar with GPS's, having 3 of them along with one for my many cameras.
Thanks
Terry
Hello,
I have a 2011 Dodge Journey Crew.
My GPS is a Garmin 265WT.
I made a cylinder using 2 inch ABS & caps, then attached the suction mount to the top.
This inserts into the front cup holder.
All is removeable to help prevent theft.
Price around $5.00

I put the pad on top of the pop up bin & mount my garmin on top- the little suction pad is not a distraction when the garmin isnt being used
I have a Garmin 265WT which came with a suction cup mount.
I made up a cylinder using 2' ABS pipe & installed it in the cup holder on the drivers side.
Works great & easily removeable.

Thanks for the fine print. Just contacted dealer for the hard copy & awaiting for reply.
Just an update for everyone; I had my brother copy the DVD for me onto a blank DVD.
I just played the copy & everything is good. Thanks to all for the suggestions but I'm not happy that the dealer was not willing to provide me with another DVD to try. There still is the issue of why my player wouldn't read the original but at this point I have a fix & am moving on.

If all else fails. One of my inserts said that the original owner of the vehicle could get a free printed manual from the dealer upon request..
I did this as I prefer the printed manual. Apparently it costs the dealer but that was not a concern of mine..
Thanks for the fine print. Just contacted dealer for the hard copy & awaiting for reply.

Thanks Terry,
I've tried opening toe DVD manually but it doesn't see anything in the drive. My computer is 5 years old so maybe the drive is failing.
Thanks, Dennis

My 2010 Owners DVD played just fine on my home setup. Have you tried starting it manually and not letting the auto start take over. Just a thought.
