  1. Hey Terry I live in South Texas where it's usually Hot and the stock Tires Lasted about 33,000 Miles I replaced them with Michelin Defenders Which have a 90,000 mile warranty rating and love them. Better ride and they are great in the rain. Don't have any idea how they are in snow because that is something I would have to travel to see.

  2. Just had brakes replaced on my 2010 Dealer did the front for the 100 dollars as letter from Dodge states rears cost me 350.00 though because they are not covered under the extended warranty. I emailed Chrysler Customer Assistance Center at www.dodge.com/dodgecares . And they emailed me back the next day, However they stated that the rear brakes were not covered under warranty and that they would call me the next business day. Which they did. During the conversation I was told that if enough people complained Dodge may extend the warranty to the rear brakes as well. So I am suggesting we begin a email onslaught to force them to at least extend the warranty to the rear brakes as well..

So we can get some replacement cost back . And as for me I will be going to the ceramic pads on the next change. 31,000 miles is way too soon to be replacing brakes.

  3. I have a 2010 SXT and I just put Michelin Defenders on mine was really impressed with the ride and the handling. Also Michelin has a 90,000 mile tread wear warranty on these tires. Just replaced the original Kumho's myself. Michelin also gives you a 3 year tire change assistance,or free towing up to 150 miles free with a set of 4 tires... and a 30 day try out of these tires and if you don't like them they will replace them...Bought mine at Discount Tires./Americas Tires.

  4. Well I for one asked the question about replacement prices as soon as I laid eyes on the key because I had never seen a car key like it anywhere else and was immediately informed by the salesman replacement costs for a new key, He then went on to explain that as long as I had 1 working key they could program another however if I lost both that it would require towing the vehicle back to the dealer for a new key to be programmed... I also asked about average costs of transmission repairs, and engine maintence costs which he gladly checked on and informed me of. These are important questions and should be asked by any consumer... This is also a very direct line of questions which help the average consumer in making a decision to pruchase an extended warranty or not... And by the way I am a High School Educated Hill Billy From TEXAS...

  5. The 2010 uses the same bulb for turn signals and brake lights as well as tail lights it is a 3 wire system. I believe the 2011 went back to using one bulb for the tail and brake lights and another amber bulb mounted lower (clear part of lens) for the turn signals...

The 2010 does not work well with led lights even if you place a resistor in line to stop hyper flashing. Doing so cancels out the tail light function of the led bulb so you are left with only tail lights (parking/running lights) in the lift gate. If you wish to run the vehicle this way it does work you will however not have tail lights in the outer lenses which may be illegal in some areas as you will have no tail/marker lights on the outer most corners...

  6. I believe this forum is for people who have and like Dodge Journeys to provide information to other owners as requested.

I also believe that anyone can modify their Journey as they see fit...

And I strongly believe that some people can keep their smart ass comments to them selves.

Just because you may not like something on your car does not mean someone else might not like it on theirs.

So if you don't have anything helpful to say then don't say anything...

  7. That was fun today. I didn't get the e-mail update however. I did post a timelapse of some of the live feed on Youtube. I'm loading the finders video now since Dodge hasn't done so just yet. It was odd that it went to the 'Found' title screen at first then showed the finders coming into frame then back to the 'found' screen once they drove off. Grats to Brad and his babes for tracking this down and actually going out and finding it when it seemed that everybody else was surfing the net or too far away.

I got the email which actually sent you in the wrong direction it was a scene from texoma on the Texas Oklahoma border again away from the location of where the Journey was anyway...

  8. The first was found near Lake Tahoe, The Second was found in about 6 hours In Oklahoma and Going by the clues from the Original Commercial I'm Guessing It will be somewhere near Lake George NY. And your only chance of winning it is if you happen to live within 2 to 3 hours of it's location.

However if your interested go to http://www.youtube.com/user/dodge On the 24th to play. Then go find the car and walk up and claim it.

So far they have been too far away for me to make the trip in time to take my Journey on a journey to win a journey... Good Luck...

  9. Does anyone know where I can order the rear bumper pad from other than through the autoxclusive.com website? I placed an order with them last week via PayPal and they never claimed the payment. I later checked PayPal and saw that their account was unverified so I decided to just cancelled the order.

    Thanks,

    Eric

I got mine from autoxclusive without a hitch and when I had to get the rear bumper cover replaced due to someone hitting it in a parking lot the body shop that I took it to asked me where did you get the cover and I gave them the web address and they got a replacement from them as well...

  10. Hi, I have a 2009 Journey 2.0 diesel with auto box. Intermittently when I attempt to start the car nothing happens. When I turn the key everything lights up, wait until all checks are complete and then when the key is turned nothing not even a dim of the dash lights to say there is a bad connection on the battery. I have moved the shift on occasion from Park to drive and back to park and it has started, leading me to believe it was not engaging properly in Park. It has run O.K. for a week now and my wife went to start it 5 minutes ago and nothing again. I tried moving the shift etc but still nothing, I tried a further 8 - 10 times and then lo and behold it fired.

HAS ANYBODY HEARD OF THIS OR HAVE A SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM. Opinions would be gratefully received please.

    Thanks in anticipation

    Tassietara

Sounds like the neutral safety switch. or shifter linkage [cable] getting out of adjustment..

  11. I just brought my '09 Journey in for an oil change, and I was told that my brake pads and rotors were to be replaced by a new third-party suppliers parts, since the previous ones were poorly made! I knew of the previous issues with the brakes people were having, and was just accepting of the fact I would need to replace them soon and often. Hearing this from my dealer was definitely good news to my ears. The service writer said that my vehicle was covered under a $100 deductable, which, compared to a full brake job, I was willing to pay. So hopefully others out there will be able to get the same deal I did and get their brakes replaced with these new ones.

Got my letter today but for the front brakes only !!!!
