Hello to everyone. I am Phil and just bought a 2017 Dodge Journey, 165,000 miles in what appears to be a very good vehicle. After much more investigations I learn the payload for towing is 2500lbs and I have a 21 foot sailboat that weighed in at just over 3000lbs. I'm considering having a class 3 hitch put on but am worried about the transmission handling it and the rear struts as well. And I have other questions as well and would love to be a part of this group of journey owners. Please give me any advice you can. Thank You.
