  1. You wont see any Lancia Badges in UK ---Not after the last crock of crap they turned out. .. Any models that come out of this union , will be badged Chrysler for USA & UK & Lancia for the rest of Europe & the export market. . If the Journey does continue being sold over here It is most likely to be badged a Chrysler or a FIAT.

  2. Very strange !!! My Diesel Patriot wasnt the quietest car on the road , but acceptable. I had a Loaner CRD Journey SE for 3 days & I remember saying to my wife that it was possibly the most quiet diesel vehicle I have ever driven. I used check the Tacho at traffic lights just to make sure the engine was running as it was so quiet.

Maybe yours is an early import ...I understand some of the early ones were a little rough around the edges......

  3. I'm just wondering if the Journey , in UK, ends up with Chrysler badging?? This will still give Chrysler UK an MPV (Mini Van) under the size of the old Voyager short wheelbase. This might be a good idea otherwise they would only have the larger Grand Voyager to offer the British public ---Just a thought!!

  4. Yea I had a chat with my dealer last week , but I think they are in a state of "Flux" at the moment. The sales manager mentioned the 2.2 Diesel for the Patriot & maybe the Jeep Compass may get a re-launch back here in UK. They were also looking forward to some Chrysler badged Lancias in the future. A tech told me " Its only the brand name we are losing , other than that everything will remain much the same . However I'm not too sure exactly what this means????

  5. Yea Cheffy I also remember you from JP.com. I still visit now & again. As you stated the Journey is a UK bargain right now . I had a Journey SE 6 speed CRD as a loner a few weeks back & was mightily impressed. I'm doing a little hunting around & a Journey is still on the " Wish List"........Are you getting Auto or Manual??? Enjoy you Journey , when It arrives mate....Cheers....

  6. Its a strange thing but UK Dodges all come with a 3yr , 60.000 mile warranty , brakes & Clutches 2 yrs. I reckon that with a little dealer discretion all these things would have been fixed in UK. My Avenger brakes wore out at 11,000 miles & 18 months , dealer replaced discs ( rotors) & pads all under warranty & no charge to me!!

  7. Yep Discoman---Its been on the cards for some time. Google in " Dodge to pull out of UK" or buy a copy of Autocar. Having owned a Dodge Caliber--Jeep Patriot & now a Dodge Avenger , & being UK myself I keep myself Informed. I'm an ex-Skoda Superb owner & mrs still has a Fabia. This news wouldnt stop me buying a Journey , so in the next few months I may start having a look round for a GOOD deal. I am also considering a used Mazda 5 MPV........... Dont forget Dodges now will start losing money Big Time....obsolete cars are not worth a lot. My Avenger was never worth a lot ..£9.500 used , but its lost about £2000 in 6 months.......Cheers ...Pete

  8. News from Allpar/Autocar---Dodge is preparing to pull out of the UK Market. The Avenger, Caliber & Nitro are long gone & once the current stock of Journeys are sold Dodge will no longer be available in UK. They blame poor, sluggish sales & lack of interest by the UK buying public . We have a vast choice of makes & Doge never caught on over here. Plus Doge was always on a loser due to an Abysmal advertising campaign.

Its a shame really , but Dodge cars were priced way to high , over here, for their build quality. The mechanicals are OK , but Brits just dont go for hard edged , cheap plastic interiors.

Jeep & Chrysler will continue , with the New Range of Chrysler/FIAT model.

Dodge spares & service will remain for many years to come!!

  9. 3 yrs ago Dodge Europe & UK started with Caliber, Nitro, Avenger & Journey---Now only Journey is left in UK. The rest were deleted from the catalogue due to poor sales, this due to Unknown brand outside UK, too expensive, poor build quality , not enough dealers & poor adverising. The journey may get deleted , who knows . This would just leave Jeep & Chrysler in Europe. However with FIAT now at the Helm this is unlikely. So we can look out for new Dodge models with FIAT influence...hopefully!!

  10. Not too sure where to start--Quick history!! 65 yrs old , took early retirement on medical grounds ( Bladder Cancer--all cleared & cured now!) at age 62. Had over 30 jobs since I left school . Divorced 35 yrs ago , havnt seen my ex wife or 2 daughters for over35 yrs. Me & my lady partner have been together over 20 yrs she has two grown daughters , the eldest one lives in Switzerland & the youngest lives just 9 miles away with her 13 yr old son ( My best mate)

I have been involved in retail & wholesale management , Security, Motor Trade. I have had Pubs, Clubs , Hotels & Wine Bars, also market trader, Antique shops with my partner, site manager for a large office block complex. Until I thought I would do some thing easy to retire on , I got my PCV Big bus licence & drove municipal buses for Stagecoach for 6 yrs. I then took a job as a Special Needs school bus driver.

When I had cancer diagnosed ,I carried on driving for some time , but I needed some big Operations so I packed it all in ....... I'm now as fit as a fiddle , but no longer find it neccessary to work!!

  11. Its was a SIX speed Manual Crd----Only 1100 on the clock when I borrowed it. Perfect condition & ran beautifully. I only had it 3 days ( about six weeks ago) & only put 150 miles on the clock myself.....This was from Kings , Cheltenham & Gloucester!!

My dealer has two 2.4 , 5 speed , Petrol SE models in at the moment . Pre Reg & they want £13,850 for them with 100 miles on the clock. I'm tempted , but prefer automatic.post-2175-042543200 1282559583_thumb.jpg
