  1. I have a 2010 Dodge Journey FWD R/T with a K&N Typhoon cold air intake filter kit 69-2543TTK and just added an HyperTech Max Energy Performance Tuner. Together I am getting roughly +19 HP and +26 Torque. It breaks out to +12.31 HP/ +11 Torque from the CAI and +7 HP/ +15 Torque from the HyperTech Tuner. Additionally, the tuner allows you to adjust the rev limiter by +/- 100rpms to a max of +/- 500rpms, change axle ratios and top speed based on tire rating. You can hear and feel the power in these additions. As for gas mileage I average 20.5 mpg with mix city and highway driving (385 miles per fill up) and 23/24mpg with highway driving (420 miles per fill up).

  2. Looks awesome Rob!! Nice work. About your typhoon intake, is that made for the journey or I've heard some guys using the avenger intake fitting it to a journey. Thanks again for the pics, ride looks sweet!

It's made for the Avenger 3.5L engine. The mod you will have to make is with the fresh air intake scoop. The Journey will not fit into the K&N heat shield as it was made to fit the Avenger. All I did was take the existing hose from the engine to the OEM air box and cut it to run from the fresh air intake scoop to the heat shield. At least in my Journey the heat shield fit snug and perfect without having to use the screws provided to secure it in the engine bay, I have been driving it for about a month with no issues of it coming loose. Here's a link of the instructions and maybe you can see what I am talking about. Good luck. http://www.knfilters.com/instructions/69-2543_inst.pdf.

    Thanks for the comment.

  4. Hi all,

The low price got us into our local BC dealer yesterday. They are "blowing out" the 2010 fully loaded R/t for $32k (asking) They say they are MSRP of $38 which sounds like a good deal.

Couple of questions, how much wiggle room do you think is in the $32k price. I hear they can't get the 11's in untill they are sold out of the 10's. Yet I know the 2011's are delayed in coming out, but when I build one up on dodge.ca it comes out to fully loaded $35k and change. So really there is only $3k difference in the two. We are in no rush to buy so could wait a couple months for a 2011.

What are your thoughts, to me the 2010 has to be down in the $27k range to make it more appealling. With the new engine in the 2011, and the redesigned dash (only thing I really dislike about the 2010), what is the best way to go?

Going to go down to my dealer tomorrow to talk to them again about pricing, any input would be greatly appreciated!

I have a 2010 R/T fully loaded and I have been lucky so far with no major problems. After looking at the redesigned Journey I would go for the 2011. Better engine, interior and another year to work on problems from 09 and 10. Good luck either way.
