  1. I am using the suction cup style extensions as well and agree if they were slightly longer they would be much better. They adjust as you adjust your power mirrors. They also have a tether that holds them to the vehicle incase they come loose. They sell these at etrailer for $17.50 each. You need one flat and one convex. Suction Cup Mirrors
  2. If I had it to do all over again I would most likely have gone with the horizontal style aftermarket hitches. There is a lot more information available about the aftermarket equipment and the pricing is more competitive because there are more people dealing the aftermarket equipment. Now that I am pulling a light weight rv with a sway control/balancer package, I've had to buy the mopar adapter which ran me another $50. Ther horizontal mount system looks better but it is not practical if you are going to tow towards the DJ's max of 3500 lbs.
  3. I have the exact same receiver marked with a 2000 lb. capacity. I just noticed it recently. I've been pulling a 2500 lb. trailer for the last 2 years with no problems. Based on review of Mopar distributors http://www.leeparts.com/dodge_journey/accessories/towing/ there are 2 different versions of this style receiver. One rated at 2000 lbs. (for about $50) and the other at 3500 lbs. (for about $250). I am not sure what the story is on the 2 different versions or how they are different but the prices are way different. I'm speculating that the the more expensive receiver has a sold steel shank instead of a hollow square shank (like the ones we have rated at 2000 lbs.). I always thought that a 2" ball was reserved for equipment rated as class III as well.
