Hello everyone , I bought a 2017 DJ crossroad in Dec 2017 . It has a 8.4 screen . But does not have a back up camera . I called the dealer and they said I have to replace to whole radio for $1200 . But If bring a back up camera to them they can install it for me and pay for the labor . Anyone know where can I order the factory backup camera or get a used one ?  I don’t want a aftermarket one. I like the factory one that’s built in to the license plate light area . Also how I can I get the factory back up sensors as well . Please and thank you in advance..

I don't know about you, but between my daughters carseat in the middle and the headrests on the left and right I can't see much of anything out the rear window.  Side mirrors help, but honestly there is a lot you can't see. I have a longer driveway to back down and there are kids and animals around. I want to be able to see everything that is behind my car when I back up.  

 

I was hoping someone knew where that pigtail was hiding.  I'm going to do the install myself to save money, I've done motor swaps and pretty much anything else that needs to be done short of rebuilding a motor or transmission.  I've done far more complex wiring than a camera. I once added power windows and locks to a base model with nothing. Installed all the wiring, switches, motors, etc.   The backup camera doesn't worry me. I just need the info to make it go smoothly.  

 

Once I tackle the job I'll post pictures and possibly some video so that it will be easier for everyone else as there really isn't a good write up.

Have you tackled this job ? Any pics or videos of the install ?

Hello, Everyone I'm new here and this is my first day on this. First question how do I know what Radio unit I have ? re2 or rb4/5?  is there way to tell by the serial number. I do have a 8.4 screen.

I bought a 2017 dodge journey cross road last week , and it doesn't come with a back up camera or nav. Bramfrank did you have a stock back up camera that you installed on your journey or aftermarket? if aftermarket can you send me a link on where you got it please? was it plug and play ? I'm thinking about going to some junk yards that have dodge journey and see if I can find one with nav, but it will be hard without being able to power up the vehicle to see if has nav, that's why I would like to know if there is a way to tell if its a nav unit by the  numbers on the back or so. I bought this journey for my wife and she is driving crazy about having the back up camera installed.

I have not tried the dealer on prices for back up cameras. . I can only imagine. As far as the Nav I'm the one that wants it in her vehicle, so she don't keep burning our data plan when traveling.
