How did you get the harness through the firewall? I am trying to hook up some lights using the same mount. I have a 2010 R/T and can't find a grommet to pass the switch wiring through. The LED lights I purchased are easy to hook up, but I can't power up the relay using the high beam circuit (without modifying the harness; voiding the warranty) so I have to run the lights manually. I can't even find a decent spot on the dash to mount the switch.

I had this happen with my 2010 this winter. When they replaced the battery, the replacement failed the third time I started it. Replaced again, and all is good.

Presets changed automatically as well, it is just the voice commands that do not work if you ask for the channel by name. I imagine Chrysler will put out a firmware fix. Dealer told me they do not have one yet, but did not sound like he even new the channels changed. Does anyone know when it will be available.

I was having the same issue with the voice commands in both my and my wife's Journey's. However in the last couple of days it has gone from not working at all, to taking a lot of time to select the right station, to working perfectly again. I wonder if it just had to re-learn the way I speak.

Go to your bluetooth connections, press the menu key, and one of the choices is MAP options. Check to see if SMS/MMS is checked

My Blackberry Style has MAP protocol, all devices running BB OS6 have it. Unforunately, I only have a 2010 Journey

I am coming up on one year with my Journey and have had only one issue. My battery had a bad cell and would not start (with the Journey plugged in) at -30C. Chyrsler had it towed 2.5 hours to the nearest dealer to be fixed. My brakes are still good, and of course there are going to be random sounds of protest coming from under the hood when asking it to start up in sub -40C temperatures but nothing that I am overly concerned with. My wife's Journey has been even better with no issues other than driving over a nail and having to replace a tire. Luckily our dealer was able to get us a deal on those rare 19" Kuhmos. The tire shop had one left and we got it for slightly over their cost.

The piston on the rear caliper needs to be screwed back in. There is a special tool for that.

Mine does that when it is below -25C and I haven't let it warm up for 5-10 minutes first.

Bell has a similar deal. I think it is at dealer invoice, once every two calendar years.

In Canada, we don't have to worry about voiding a lifetime warranty. It isn't offered here.

Go to www.carcostcanada.com website and get a membership. When I bought my two Journeys, they saved me about $1300. You will know exactly what the wholesale and retail cost of the vehicle and all the option packages.

If you have an extended warranty then you shouldn't have to worry about anything other than another brake job. Just replace the low quality stock pads and rotors with quality aftermarket ones and then you won't have to worry about that either.

They come on when you turn on the rear defroster

Just before Christmas my wife picked up a screw where the tread meets the sidewall (unrepairable). Local tire shop in Sudbury had three in stock, charged around $300 with installation, balancing, disposal, and taxes.

R/T's are the only model that has 19" as standard. I'm pretty sure that on the SE and SE plus models there are more than one manufacturer making the size they need. Those are the most common models that I see, I see enough R/T's out there but I don't think that there are enough to warrant everybody getting on board and making this size of tire.

I have taken mine on a 'not-so-well' maintained logging road, twice. My work location is a long drive from home (1600 km) and I can cut quite a bit off my drive by taking a 79km dirt, industrial road. It handles it without issue.

Also consider that LED lighting does not produce enough heat to melt snow off of the lights in bad winter weather when you need them to be most visible.

It's actually the temperature sensor for the automatic climate control

I wouldn't be too concerned. I have a '10 R/T AWD and I am using the stock tires.

I work in northwestern Ontario Canada and have been dealing with over a foot of snow since Nov 22nd. The Journey is very surefooted in the snow, just make sure to leave some extra distance between you and other vehicles and slow down if the conditions warrant it.

You know what I wish is that the key receptacle was lit the way the coffee holders are - I fumble to get the fob into the socket constantly!

I agree, to get around this oversight I aim the driver's map light right at the socket.

Do you have navigation? AFAIK The iPod control is not available on the radios with GPS

I was wondering how your wife likes her R/T ... did she really want one when you bought the two?

My wife loves her Journey as well. Previously we had been leasing vehicles (her's a Patriot, mine a Compass). Our leases were up and she was debating on buying out her lease or purchasing new. She hadn't seen a Journey until we were at the dealership and as soon as she sat in it, she new she wanted one. Half an hour later, the vehicles were ordered and paperwork signed (I had the Car Cost Canada print out with me so no haggling was needed)

Except that video is of workers in Detriot, and the Journeys are built in Mexico. If you think that because it happens in Detriot it can happen in Mexico, then you could easily say that it happens at every plant with every manufacturer (which it probably does).

I am 39 years old, married, and have no children. I am a miner and work in a gold mine in Northwestern Ontario about 16 hours away from my home in Sudbury. I needed a vehicle that was large enough to haul my DJ equipment for the occasional gig that I still do, comfortable enough for the long trip to and from work (although I usually fly), and decent mileage (too bad we couldn't get a diesel in North America).

From what I've learned on this forum, the iPod control does not work with the nav radio. That would explain the missing cable.
