  1. Well guys,

it's been one year since a bought my 2010 Journey. I'm glad I didn't listen to all those people who told me it was a mistake. I now have 23,000km's and absolutely no problems.

Truck runs very well and the highway gas mileage is more than acceptable with a 9.6 @ 120 kmph.

The brakes are almost due I suspect, but thats all. I would recommend the 2010 sxt to anyone.

  2. Yeah, driving around town isn't all that great for gas. I think we are sitting at around 15L/100Km on ours.

Second fillup gave us a 13.1 average. I thing its not so bad.

We went to a friends cottage yesterday and did all highway and the reading was at 9.6/100km.

I think its great, Wonder if it gets better after the engine is broken in. I only have 1000kms.

  3. First day with my Journey today and I am at 122kms. My first comments are that it is very enjoyable to drive during the day. It was raining tonight so I used my wipers and I have to say that the rear wiper is not very good. it just doesn't clean the middle part of the wiper.

Another little thing that bothers me is why does the u connect not charge my i-pod touch.? I will try with a nano tomorrow.

Overall, can't really complain about anything major, but it has been only 122 kms.

  4. Well my Journey is finally in. Theey told me it was not th dealer called to tell me that they are ready to deliver tomorrow. When I asked them to activate my sirius satellite radio, there. I told them that its what I wanted when i signed. They told me it would cost an additional 1200$. I laughed because the difference was only 250$ when I signed. They then told me that there is no wiring for the satellite radio so they would have to run new wires for the antenna. What a farce.

I hope this is not a beginning to many more disagreements with this dealership.

I told them that I would not pick up the Journey until it is complete. If they don't do it by Friday, I will go elsewhere. :rant2:

After a good nights sleep, I reconsidered the sirius radio. Although the dealer said they would remove it from another Journey, I just didn't want them fishing wires over the top and unscrewind things, so I decided to take it as is. I'm not really sure I would want to spent the 20$/month when I have the I pod.

Going to pick it up at 7pm tonight !!!!!

  5. I just purchased and currently driving a 2010 Dodge Journey SE 4dr SUV (2.4L 4cyl 4A) Deep Water Blue Pearl Paint. I added a few options:

AGV Flexible Seating Group (160 amp alternator; Second row 40/60 tilt and slide seat; Third row 50/50 fold/reclining seat; Air conditioning with 3-zone temperature control; Rear air conditioning with heater; Easy enter system seat)

AWX Safe and Sound Group( Radio ID RBZ AM/FM radio; Single disc CD/DVD player; MP3 playback; 30 GB hard disk drive; 6.5" touch screen display; Parkview rear back-up camera). Bummed about it not already having Sirius SAT Radio.

ADX Exterior Appearance Package (16" x 6.5" aluminum wheels; Fog lamps)

and last but not least Pin stripes, Tinted windows, and wheel locks.

    Congrats,

I hope you enjoy it. I'm picking mine up at 7pm this evening. !!!!

  7. I ordered my journey on Feb 17, and will be getting it in the next 10 days or so. It let Mexico on the 13th of may and is now in Texas. It has to go through Chicago and then through Canada to finally reach the dealer by the 31st of May.

Waiting is torture, I just hope its worth the wait!!!

A friend of mine who has a 2009 RT just got the diff changed 2 weeks ago and yesterday it was the tranny

Hope my 2010 SRT will be blessed lol

  8. Very well said DP360, I completely agree with you. The only point I was trying to make was that there are many satisfied customers and I didn't want people to get scared and get cold feet after reading negative comments. It happened to a person I know who was interested in the journey and after reading really negative comments decided to go for a jeep patriot???

Anyways I know that this is THE best journey forum and all comments and opinions are welcomed.

  9. Ask yourself this - if you buy a product, any product, that performs as advertised and does what you need, are you going to go out of your way to tell the world about it? The answer is probably "no". Sure, you may praise it when asked, but you're probably not going to take the time out of your busy day to become an advocate for said product. However, if you purchase a product that has a problem, be it real or maybe just "user error", you're very likely to seek advice and help from an online community. If you have a REALLY bad experience with said product, you will likely become outspoken about your bad experiences and you very well may take time out of your busy day to denounce the product, just to get back at the company that has done you wrong.

My point is, these forums, by their very nature, will attract people with problems more so than people without any problems. This is true of virtually all products on the planet and is certainly true for all makes and models of cars. No vehicle being produced today is 100% defect free. All car makes have problems. Some more so than others but they are ALL "generally good" from a quality perspective. Keep this in mind when you read about problems and bad experiences on this or any other forum.

In my case, my '10 SXT purchased in November of 2009 has been 100% problem free through 8700 miles. Sure, it has some quirks that annoy me in a minor way and there are some details that I think could have been implemented better but, by and large, I am very happy with my purchase. My reasons for being involved in this forum are 1) to keep informed of problems that others may be experiencing so I can either prevent them from occurring to me or be better prepared to deal with them if they do happen, and 2) to see what kind of modifications and enhancements people are making to their Journey's because I eventually want to make some modifications/enhancements of my own.

  10. Hi everyone,

I understand that this forum is open to everyone and peoples opinions and comments are what makes a forum informative and interesting. Having said that , I am waiting for my journey to come in, and can't believe that way over 3/4 o the comments on this forum relate to problems the Journey has. It goes from braking to radio and everything in between. I just want to let people know that every time a see a journey at a light or in a mall and the owner is around, I always ask what they think of their Journey and if they regret their choice. Most of the Journey's are 2010 and almost everyone says its a great vehicle with no issues. One person told me they changed their brakes after 48,000k's which is about normal.

I wish that more Journey owners that enjoy their vehicle and have only ordinary issues post their comments and not only the ones who have problems.

  11. Have you heard of any problems with the AWD RT having transmission problems? A friend of mine jusy took his 09 RT to the dealer because it smelled burnt oil and the problem is a burnt transmission. The funny thing is that he does nor haul and 90% of his kms are highway kms.

    Is this a common problem?

lately it seems that everyone I speak to who has a journey has had fairly serious problems.

  12. I just picked up my Dodge Journey RT in Inferno Red with Black interior.

Love the look of the interior. Black with the chrome accents looks really nice.

Will be looking at customizing options. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum, keep us posted on how the first couple of weeks, months gas consumption goes.
