For $300 it would be cheaper to leave it there and buy a new DS

LOL! TRUE, but still won't stop them from trying to mess with it! Kids will be kids!
My Kids 5,4 & 1 don't go near them ... the only thing that they occasionally do is turn their overhead lights on when they're not supposed to.
-
I don't want the grand kids messing with stuff
behind me so I prefer to have it that way, the few knobs back there the less damage that could happen.
There's a button on the dash that can lock the rear a/c controls
-
Try eBay ... I got a cabin filter for what I thought was a reasonable price.

There's already a thread about it HERE

I know this may sound a bit obvious, but it's not the doors auto locking, is it?

Anyone know how to turn off the seatbelt chime?
Wear your seat belt?!?! :P
From the Manual:
Enhanced Seat Belt Reminder System (BeltAlert)If the driver’s seat belt has not been buckled within 60
seconds of starting the vehicle and if the vehicle speed is
greater than 5 mph (8 km/h), the Enhanced Warning
System (BeltAlert) will alert the driver to buckle the seat
belt. The driver should also instruct all other occupants to
buckle their seat belts. Once the warning is triggered, the
BeltAlert will continue to chime and flash the Seat Belt
Reminder Light for 96 seconds or until the driver’s seat
belt is buckled. The BeltAlert will be reactivated if the
driver’s seat belt is unbuckled for more than 10 seconds
and the vehicle speed is greater than 5 mph (8 km/h).
BeltAlert Programming
The BeltAlert can be enabled or disabled by your
authorized dealer or by performing the following steps:
NOTE: The manufacturer of this vehicle does not recommend
deactivating the BeltAlert.
1. With all doors closed, and the ignition switch in any
position except ON or START, buckle the driver’s seat
belt.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, (engine
does not need to be running). Wait for the Seat Belt
Reminder Light to turn off and then proceed to the next
step.
NOTE: You must perform the following steps within 60
seconds of turning the ignition switch to the ON position.
3. Unbuckle the driver’s seat belt, allow the seat belt to
retract, and then re-buckle the driver’s seat belt at least
three times, ending with the seat belt buckled.
NOTE: Watch for the Seat Belt Reminder Light to turn
on while the seat belt retracts and turn off while rebuckling
the seat belt. It may be necessary to completely
retract the seat belt each time.
4. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position. A
single chime will sound to signify that you have successfully
completed the programming.
The BeltAlert can be reactivated by repeating this procedure.
NOTE: When the BeltAlert is deactivated, the Seat Belt
Reminder Light will continue to illuminate as long as the
driver’s seat belt is unbuckled/retracted.

Can anyone tell me how it fits? Is there a parts manual anywhere? My diesel only has 1 pipe!!!
I've got 2.7l Petrol with a single pipe and I have the spare fitted.
This is from the US owners manual which you can download here
The spare tire is stowed underneath the rear of thevehicle and is held in place by means of a cable winch
mechanism.

It's pretty cool at night when you press the lock button the lights on the switches will light up when they're unlocked and turn off when they're locked.

Well, you're going to be popular on these forums with an opening post like that.

The only thing I found underneath the glove box in my Journey was an air vent.

It was a 2009 model so they were keen to get rid of it, I got it for $38000, that included uConnect and Reverse Park Sensors.
I traded in a VZ Commodore, the change-over price was $25000
I don't know where you're located but there's one here for $36990

Has anyone had any luck programming extra key fobs?
I know that they have the procedure in the 2009 manual, but I've tried it and it doesn't work, I'm using 2 original fobs but the security light doesn't come on to tell me that it's in programming mode.
Has anyone tried anything different, or is it going to have to be programmed by my dealer?

A big thanks to this forum, as I didn't even realise there was a provision for a filter. I found an OEM filter on eBay for a good price.

The actaul trunk is metal, the bumper below it is plastic
No, you need to go and have a closer look at yours and take a magnet with you, it's plastic or "composite" as Dodge call it
Google "dodge journey composite gate", it's even on the Journey's wikipedia page.
also the hood is aluminum so you can try the magnet there as well.
-
I've also noticed that the tailgate is a slightly different shade, I'm assuming because that's plastic as well.

Thanks, I would of liked to get the red or the blue but there was a 2 month wait for the MY10's.
I got the MY09 Silver Steel for a pretty good price.

Have had an SXT since January ... almost due for it's first service (12000kms) ... we've had no problems with anything (touch wood) ... no brake issues ... no high speed shaking ... nothing ... I don't regret buying this car.
