My Journey has an engine tick, especially when cold starting. I know that this can be common on cold starts. However, as time has gone on, it seems to be steady after the car is warmed up. Not sure if this can be a serious problem. I don't seem to have any other issues. Engine pickup is fine and trans is running fine. Read some suggestions about using oil conditioners, etc. Can anyone provide some insight?
Mine has gone through two sets of lifters. The tick will get worse. Take it in and ask them to check the lifters but it will most likely need to spend the night so they can hear it at its worst in the am when it is cool. Good luck.

I don't think you can sue for a part wearing out before it does on most cars, only problems that have caused injury/death
Take it to the dealer and and have it taken care of under the warrenty
I did, for almost $600.00. Thanks anyway

Does anyone know of a class action lawsuit against Dodge for premature brake pad and rotor wear? To me rotors and pads should not wear out before 30,000 miles.

I told one dealer there was something wrong with the brakes (they were squeaking)@ 26,000 miles. They said nothing was wrong. I just had to have my pads and rotors changed (front and back) at 29,000 miles. After I drove the Journey home I noticed I was getting 25 miles per gallon. Normally I get 19-20 mpg. I think the Journey brakes were sticking. I have owned sports cars and never had to have the pads or rotors changed until over 120,000 miles and some beyond that. Dodge needs to check into this faulty system.

That happened to mine and about 500 miles out of warranty the other one broke. Dodge wouldn't replace the other one. They are over $100.00 to replace.
