    Gas mileage

Our Journey is an SXT w AWD, 3.5l engine. Just returned from a 500 mile trip - all freeway driving. We got 23.1 mpg on the way out and 25.0 mpg on the way back (per the EVIC). I used 89 octane gas because the price difference was minimal. The car had only 200 miles at the start of the trip. I used speed control most of the way and set the speed between 65 - 70 mph (yes, I'm retired and wasn't in a hurry). Since the advertised mpg for the AWD is 22 highway, and we got a max of 25, I'm very satisfied.
  2. Just wanted to pass along some good news re our new Journey. We've had our new SXT AWD for about a week and have about 200 miles on it. We are very pleased and have had no problems at all. Everything works and everything fits very well. No engine issues, no trans issues, no electrical issues whatsoever. All radio functions and electronics have been flawless. Heated seats, auto temp, remote start - flawless. The engine is strong and the trans is smooth and shifts appropriately without hunting. No groans, squeaks, rattles or clunks. Tire pressure monitoring system worked just as it was supposed to (dealer had not inflated tires properly). And it's quiet! Since we've had the car such a short time, important things like reliability and gas mileage have yet to be proven. But so far we are very pleased. Hopefully, Dodge has worked out most of the bugs. And we have had a few admiring "what is that?" comments. A little encouragement for those who may be sitting on the fence regarding a purchase.
  3. crh47 How long did it take to get yours from the time you ordered?
  4. We're about to buy an SXT AWD with the Inferno Red exterior color. We want the Beige interior cloth seats and trim. The dealer says he's never seen one with that combination and says he's searched every dealer's inventory within 600 miles (from Michigan). They all have black interiors, although the beige is an available choice. Does anyone have the Red/Beige combination, and do you like it? I hate to factory order because of the long delivery times. Thanks
  5. The tachometer in the Journey IP (and most all cars) takes up a lot of real estate but doesn't seem to serve a useful purpose. How do those-in-the-know use a tach? Can it help efficiency/mpg's? In short - what's this thing for anyway?
