  1. hi.. I am totally confused on this topic. I have 2010 DJ (manufacture date of Oct 2010) with 29K and my brakes seem fine. Some days I do notice stopping power when I need it is not there, but thinking it maybe due to the weight of the car. I am also noticed from most of the posts the premature brake wear seems more common with people running higher KMS.. 10 k - with in months or 20K with in a year. Anyways.. I live in Toronto area and so far love my DJ so far. Only complaint really is crappy mileage. But anyways I am planning a trip down south and with the price of auto parts as they are I would really love to hear from a mopar / dodge mechanic on a recommendation of size, vendor and type of pads and rotors. When I researched the car as much as I wanted the V6, it seemed most of the problems were attributed with V6 models and this swayed my decision to the 4 Cyl SE Plus model.
  2. I have 2010 with 14,500 no major issues accept i have come back 3 rd time for an oil change. The oil change idiot light i have been told is actually a smart light and counts number starts, distance, etc.. i think next time i will just check the oil b4 i go. I do many short trips few kms from home to local commuter train stn., and my brakes are still fine. Other than this, and poor gas mileage - i am extremely pleased with my SE + hope to keeper for 10 yrs.(if i can still afford the gas that is) ... Does anyone know where to get cross bars for the roof rack at a reasonable price ?
  3. Hi All.. Just got a letter from Chrysler Canada today about 2010 Journey brakes and rotors being extended to 40 KM 2 YR warranty. They will offer to pay for past services that fall under the new extended warranty period provided you have receipts.
  4. not sure if there is any truth to this but my dealer claimed the stuff used by chrysler is developed and formulated by chrysler and do not use any 3 party stuff like gator tuff, diamond kote etc.. if anyone can confirm in fact it's all chrysler product please post us. I did end up paying a premium for the dealer stuff, but glad to hear some positive posts on the dealer applied stuff.. makes me feel better for doling out the extra cash... :-)
  5. There are lot of good things I like about my 2010 Journey. I have the 4 cylinder SE + model and there so many neat little creature features it's great. So far no mechanical trouble. Favourites so far is the super fast rear defogger and cabin heater which was great for this Toronto winter. Really enjoying the satellite radio, i am hooked on boneyard. The only downside is mileage most of my mileage is short hops to and fro go train and the odd 100 - 200 km jaunt. Getting about 16L/100 KM which is horrible. I knew going in the mileage is bad, but this is really bad, I hope this improves once the car is worked in. Looking fwd to enjoy the car this summer for those long road trips to our favourite camp spots.
  6. Hi.. I Read up on the VIN number - it;s last 6 numbers that's unique to the vehicle. the first portiion is 3D4PG4FB1AT < this should tell u pretty much make model date factory etc ../ Do u work at a dealer ? I know there is a lot of smoke and mirrors, and believe it or not the dealer was forthright and divuldged they had certain "kickback" based on volume as well as the mid of month costing incententive. Let me know what u find with the VIN... cheers .
  7. Thanks... i got the chrysler affiliate price which is supposed to be same as the employee price. After reading some of the reliability issues i was able to upgrade the warranty to 7 yr B-B... very costly, but I don't do a lot of driving, and tend to keep cars till they die.
  8. Hi.. Picked up an SE + with 3 row seats for 18995.00 .. sofar 700 KM break in so far so good :-) Can anyone comment on the pricing out of curiousity ? also etended warranty 5/100 for 1600.00 Look forward to a lot of posts and good into.. cya
  9. WoW -- I wish we had Desiel option in north america. I don't know why there is such a negative view of desiels these days. PErsonally i think it's lobbyists and big gas company consperiencies my self. The only deisels around are vw, and mercedes.. all other manufactures build a deisels for rest of the world, yet they refuse to market and support in north america. The desiels of today are lot cleaner then years of past. and u still need to pass strict emmission laws. I'd be curious if you could tell us what kind of mileage or L/100 KM you are getting.
  10. Hi All I just nailded a deal for a journey SE Plus (2010 model) with 3 row seating for 18,995 + HST + 240.00 There are so many confusing models and packages there is SE SECVP SE PLus so the t advertising prices are confusing.
