I have an appointment over Christmas break, as soon as it’s fixed I will post what the problem was. Mine dim to and from work everyday, it’s not bad but it’s not right.

Okay please keep us posted. I see a TON of forums about the ram truck having this exact issue, but no forums about the journey having the issue. You're my only source to go off of hahaha.

PS: The fix for the Ram trucks is a software update/flash. I think we might have the same solution because when i check the TSBs for the journey, there's a TSB for "electrical software" but the description just says "Will update in future". So this might be our fix.

I had this same issue, nobody else seemed to notice it but me (and maybe the car in front of me), but it would happen for a split second every 10-15 minutes. One of the Dodge specialists gave me this TSB number to show my dealer (Only applicable to 2016 and 2017 models). I took this to the dealer and asked them to do it during my last oil change and haven't had the problem since. My guess is that it has happened more than mentioned since it is kind of hard to notice from inside the car.

"TSB NUMBER: 08-097-17

GROUP: 08 - Electrical

DATE: September 28, 2017

SUBJECT: Flash: BCM Diagnostic and System Improvements

MODELS: 2016 - 2017 (JC) Dodge Journey

NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles within the following markets/countries: NAFTA and EMEA.

NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles built on or before August 28, 2017 (MDH 0828XX).

SYMPTOM/CONDITION: The customer may describe the headlamps flicker while operating at night. This condition may be more prevalent after the bulb(s) have been replaced with an aftermarket bulb."

Man, you're a godsend. I could not find this tsb for the life of me. This makes our job so much easier - no longer have to try and prove to them that it happens lol

Hi jimmyz,

There is a TSB related to the concern you are describing on some Dodge Journeys:

"NUMBER: 08-097-17

GROUP: 08 - Electrical

DATE: September 28, 2017

SUBJECT: Flash: BCM Diagnostic and System Improvements

NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles within the following markets/countries: NAFTA and EMEA.

NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles built on or before August 28, 2017 (MDH 0828XX).

SYMPTOM/CONDITION: The customer may describe the headlamps flicker while operating at night. This condition may be more prevalent after the bulb(s) have been replaced with an aftermarket bulb."

Your dealership will be able to identify if this TSB applies to your vehicle or you can send us a PM with your VIN and I can check for you as well!

Thank you for posting this.  I purchased a 2016 Journey in Nov 2016 and I've noticed this almost right away.  Unfortunately neither of the dealerships I took it to were able to "duplicate" the problem.

I just printed a copy of that TSB and will be bringing it with me when I take my Journey back in for service.

Again, many thanks for posting this!
