http://5EFC7023-9D4D-4645-BFAD-F1C849B3035E_1_201_a.heicHello everyone! Still alive and kicking! Here's my 2013 Journey, now 10 years old with 166.000 miles. Had our first round of trouble where a valve cover gasket leaked, oil ran into the starter motor and shorted it out. Replaced the gasket, starter, battery, replaced the plugs with the intake out and changed the oil and filter. Three days later something sliced the passenger side rear tire on the Cross Bronx Expressway (shocker) but I was able to get the temporary spare on to get us home. New tire this weekend, and she runs and rides perfectly once again. This car has held up exceptionally well and still looks really good doing it. (I thought the photo would be attached but it's just a link to it, sorry)

Hi all, it's been a while since I've posted anything here. I am still a very happy Journey owner. Washed and detailed it today and it's sitting in my driveway looking beautiful. Eight years and 140,000 miles, and the car has been superb. We had a major collision late in 2014 at 30K miles when a young driver blew a red light and destroyed the whole front end of the car. It was repaired properly and 110K miles later, the car has had very few issues. The Radio Frequency Hub began intermittently dropping phone connectivity and was replaced. I had a bad temperature door actuator for the rear heater, and the usual P0128 thermostat rationality that affects nearly every 3.6 ever built. The important thing is that the car has never once left my wife stranded anywhere, and it remains quiet, comfortable and economical. It could now use a set of shocks - the body motions are not as controlled as they used to be. I went 110K miles on the original rear brakes. Three years after the last payment, we have no intention to get rid of it anytime soon. She loves the car as do I. My kids are out of the house now but our yellow lab goes everywhere in it with us. If I had to replace it tomorrow, I'd be disappointed that I couldn't buy another new one.

CAUTION: The magnetic timing wheels (1) must not come in contact with magnets (pickup tools, trays, etc.) or any other strong magnetic field. This will destroy the timing wheels ability to correctly relay camshaft position to the camshaft position sensor.

The Camshaft Position (CMP) sensors are located at the rear of the cylinder head covers and are bolted to the cylinder head.
Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. Remove the air cleaner body (Refer to 09 - Engine/Air Intake System/BODY, Air Cleaner - Removal) .
If removing the LH CMP sensor, first remove the upper intake manifold (2) (Refer to 09 - Engine/Manifolds/MANIFOLD, Intake - Removal) .

NOTE: The RH CMP sensor is shown, the LH CMP sensor is similar. If removing both RH and LH CMP sensors, mark the sensors so they can be installed in their original locations.

Disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the CMP sensor.
Loosen the sensor mounting bolt (2).

Pull the sensor and mounting bolt from the cylinder head cover.
The O-ring seal (1) can be reused if not damaged.

Cam sensor is 3/36. Here's a list of covered engine components:
    E. Parts Covered
    The Powertrain Limited Warranty covers
these parts and components of your vehicle's
powertrain supplied by Chrysler Group LLC:
    Gasoline Engine:
    cylinder block and all internal
parts; cylinder head assemblies; timing case, timing
chain, timing belt, gears and sprockets; vibration
damper; oil pump; water pump and housing; intake and
exhaust manifolds; flywheel with starter ring gear; core
plugs; valve covers; oil pan; turbocharger housing and
    internal parts; turbocharger wastegate actuator;
supercharger; serpentine belt tensioner; seals and
    gaskets for listed components only.
I have yet to see a cam sensor go bad in a 3.6. Doesn't mean it can't happen but the code should be diagnosed (if it hasn't been already) rather than just replacing the part on a guess.

Is yours Front Wheel or All Wheel Drive? Mine is FWD and is a rocket ship when floored. Too much power for the front wheels - I get torque steer and really have to hold on. How many miles on yours? Give the tranny time to adapt to your driving style and it should feel more responsive after a few thousand miles of adaptation and break-in.

P06DD Pertains specifically to oil pressure as measured at the dual stage oil pump, where P0520 Is the pressure sensor under the intake. That is definitely the more common one. The oil pump falls under powertrain coverage. If your Journey is within the powertrain warranty then there would be no charge to replace it. The pressure sensor is a Basic 3/36 Warranty item.

There is a service bulletin for the whine sound when cold. The idler pulley bearing can make this sound. Mine screeches for a few seconds in extreme cold. The power steering pump makes a noise like it's low on fluid for several seconds after cold start. Finally, there is a moaning sound from the engine after a cold start which lasts about a minute then stops. Been making that since new. The minivans do it too, but strangely, not the Grand Cherokee, Durango, 300 and Charger - essentially the RWD platforms as opposed to the FWD ones. No worries.

Replace the battery. Regardless of what the test results were, it's at least four years old and is at the end of its useful life anyway. I would be very surprised if you had an electrical drain on the car unless there was some sort of modifications made.

Journeyman425 got a reaction from OhareFred in Normal trans temp ,oil ect
The common denominator here is the coolant temperature. The engine oil cooler uses engine coolant to transfer heat from the oil to the cooling system. The transmission oil cooler is located in front of the radiator in the A/C condenser. If the coolant temperature is too high, it directly affects the temperature of the transmission and engine oils.
We recently took a camping trip with my 2013 Journey with 42,000 miles. Our pop-up camper weighs 1200 lb. dry. We had all of our gear, two bikes, and four people in the car so we were well-loaded. Towing 65 MPH in 90 degree temps with the A/C on, the coolant temp never went over 210 degrees, the tranny stayed under 190 and honestly I don't remember the engine oil temp but it was not high at all. Your cooling system appears to have a restriction, or is airbound, or has a circulation issue. Has any work been done to the car, either mechanically or any collison repair work? Mine was in a major accident late last year and I was curious to see how it would perform after having the radiator, A/C condenser, transmission cooler and all associated hoses and lines replaced. Normal. Have yours checked out when you can.

Journeyman425 got a reaction from jkeaton in can existing remote entry key fob - be used to program an additional fob?
My 2000 Chrysler 300M permits the customer to program an additional Sentry (chip) key, as long as there are two keys present which are already programmed. This is no longer permissible with the current FOBIK system. As JKeaton pointed out, the vehicle must be connected to a scan tool (Dodge dealers use a system called WiTech) to program additional FOBIKs.

You cannot disable a programmed FOBIK by following the procedure that you outlined in your post. Our dealership charges $36.00 to program a FOBIK and cut the door key. The procedure takes all of about 10-15 minutes to perform. Most places charge more.
