How about approaching the parents? At least split the bill. I don't know the situation, but I've never wrapped a seat belt around my head. Even as a kid. The situation sounds odd. If it was a true safety situation and somehow the seat belt design was the cause, I think Chrysler may be helpful. If not, well. . . Dunno.
Peace.
I hear you. I am still try to figure out how he did that! I am ripped. The parent will be paying if Chrysler won't do anything for me.

I had to cut the seatbelt in the third row seat to help a 12yr old friend of my son. He some how got it wrapped around his head and the belt was locked. Wonder if Chrysler can do something for me about getting it fixed. Any suggestions on an approach I should take?

That is true. I guess the valve and hose needs to be replaced. They also did a reflash to fix the transmission clunk. The DJ shifts better now.
My wife stood her ground and kept asking them about the part going bad so soon and that it wasn't normal for a car that's only a little over a year old. But yeah, they like to take advantage of women.

Took it to the dealer. It was a leaky pcv valve. They were going to charge 160 to fix but it was a bad design so they will take care of it. My wife took it in, I would have ripped them a new one if they attempted to charge me 160 to replace a faulty part. Thanks for your help.

The oil is coming from the drivers side. I use a funnel so it isn't from that. Is the transfer case anywhere near the other pan opposite the engine oil pan? Not sure what that pan is...transmission?
-
No it's black. Looks like oil but it isn't coming from the oil pan. It is next to it. Transfer case perhaps?

Hi guys,
2012 crew awd 21,000 miles. I discovered a leak under the car today during an oil change. It is coming from the front drivers side directly next to the oil pan. Any ideas?
I kind of want to informed before calling the dealer.
Thanks in advance

Once in a while, there is a clunk that we hear when putting the car into drive but most times it is very smooth. It has 8,000 miles on it.

She pulls like a freight train. Love it. And I am coming from driving a wrx that also can pull pretty good.

Any update? Sorry to hear this.

My 2012 is starting to pop out a little. How is that epoxy holding up?

You are right, this forum is boring!!! I also had a friend who's mother was putting clothes in a dryer, the family cat decided to hop in and check things out while she wasn't looking. She closed the door, hit the start button and ran upstairs..... No more kitty.

do you always change every 3 k i do mine every 8 to 10k when using synthetic oil.
No, I change every 6 or so with a filter change in between.
-
2800 miles = 4500 kilometers
This may be a little early for synthetic oil but I change my own reglar oil every 4000-5000 kms.
Terry
I really haven't thought about that but I have done this to all of my new cars. First oil change, I have always switched to a synthetic.
-
2800 miles and it was a breeze. I really like the drop in filter. I inspected it after I got it out and there were a lot small metal shavings from the break in period so the filter did it's job. The drain plug was very easy to get to as well. Overall, an easy DIY job. I bought two filters from the dealership and 5w/30 synthetic oil (walmart brand) and the plan is to change the filter after 3k miles and do another filter/oil change at 6k. I have used Walmart synthetic in my wrx from day one with great results 165,000 miles and still going strong.

Moral of this story....Everyone keep track of your "keys" and don't do drugs.

If they were 17's and they were rubbing on the caliper, I believe the person you bought it from may have been mistaken... If they were from a Dodge Journey, there would be no rubbing. Even with 16" Rims there isn't any rubbing with OEM Dodge Journey Rims.
Glad to hear you got it resolved.
They are fine now. It only took a little to make them fit. They definitely came off the Journey as it was sitting in the garage, when I went and picked them up. I am sure the dealer did the same thing I did and took a grinder and went to work.

Gotta get the Husky Liners. They are so nice for keeping the vehicle clean. Just pull them out, hose them off and put them back in. With kids, they are even more useful.
I second that. Money well spent.

I am thinking of doing this for next winter. For now, I am power washing on a weekly basis.

I spoke to my mechanic about this as I'm researching to get a set of winter tires. According to him you should never shave calipers, instead use spacers.
Too late for me but to each his own. The thing is, these rims came off a 2009 journey.

Goes in on Monday to get fixed.

This is the second time to the dealer for warranty work. Transmission clunk, rear brake caliper, radio malfunction, and now the above stuff. 38k on the odometer. The first 25k was great.
