I have a 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan, (62TE Transmission) and I just did a transmission pan replacement, with a Dorman 265-833 Transmission Oil Pan, (one with a drain plug) and replaced the filter. I ended up removed 6.25 Qt's. Since I read many posts about this 62TE transmission, I filled it up with 5.5 Qt's and am getting a reading that indicates it is overfilled by a lot. The transmission was running great @ 129,000 miles and now seems to be acting up, sometimes shifting back & forth between gears, (3rd & 4th gears) while maintaining speed and RPM's. I am at a loss to know what I should do. Even at room temperature, it is indicating that it's overfilled. I'm using my engine oil dipstick and scored it using the dipstick I bought for checking 62TE transmission levels, (48mm the target level at running temp). The dipstick I bought was so stiff, it would not make the slight bend in the trans fill tube. I was just thinking about adding enough to match what I took out, but am afraid I will really overfill it, although that means it was running great at that (supposed) higher (overfill) level. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
