BrianS got a reaction from NavalLacrosse in Vehicles owned, past and present
Annnnd... now we can add a '16 Dodge Grand Caravan Crew Plus to the list... SWMBO got tired of single handedly raising the stock price of the big oil companies and wanted to get rid of the Nitro.

BrianS got a reaction from 2late4u in Recent repair items
Yes, they've taken good care of me. We've purchased 2 vehicles from them... one used and one new, and the new one wasn't the DJ. I bought the DJ at another dealer and after their service department p'd me off I told them to kiss it as I left the last time and I will never go back there.
The suspension parts were the upper rubber strut bushings. I didn't notice anything, but they said they were "noisy". It's all good.

Not sure if this is the correct place for this or not, but didn't seem to be anywhere else for it so here we go. Mods can move it if it's in the wrong spot.
Recently, I had my blower motor replaced... that's covered in another section.
While I had it at the dealer, the tech discovered a couple other items that surprised me so thought I would mention them so everyone could check theirs. The windshield washer nozzles needed to be replaced. Apparently, they are notorious for leaking under hood where the tubes connect. And, the washer pump was leaking, so it was replaced. This makes no sense, but it is what it is. I could see if I put water in it, and it froze but I kept winter washer fluid in all year so who knows. And, the last thing that really DID cause me a bit of concern was the rubber bushings (grommets? strut bearings?) that had to be replaced. I wasn't able to determine which.. will look at the service order again. I've only got 43,000KM on it, about 25k miles approx. and suspension parts are starting to wear? I thought that was a bit premature.

BrianS got a reaction from 2late4u in Blower fan quit
OK, to follow up on this. The tech diagnosed the blower fan as having an internal short in it and replaced it. Hopefully that will be it.

BrianS reacted to Armando G in i have recieved a GENEROUS gift...
Two things...
Great product, mostly if you have a performance car that you want to monitor and tweak with the performance (had one previously). As far as having on a daily driver, for me too much information is sometimes not good. I personally start freaking out too easily when I see something not quite right, even though it is not a problem. Use it with a bit of discretion, but very nice to have. More importantly, your buddy offered you a free, pretty darn good item, and you got him to deliver it for free on top of that?!?! DAMN, he must be a nice guy... -
BrianS got a reaction from jkeaton in 2013 Dodge Journey 3.6 R/T a/t FWD not shifting gears
I had something similar happen to mine when it was only a few months old. Not sure about the reverse as I never tried it, but it would not shift out of low gear. Several starts, and restarts, and it started acting normally again. The end result was a bad sensor in the transmission. 43,000km and the problem hasn't returned.

+111 on the not being programed. Good catch guys, forgot to mention that.

Are you using the same cable that you used in the past? Some phone cables are better than others.. and if they are one of the cheaper ones. the contacts can get sloppy.

BrianS reacted to Armando G in Trailer hitch installed - 2015
Finally received and installed my Curt hitch (13201) on my 2015 DJ. After reading all the posts on here and researching the options, it was easy to decide on the Curt package on eBay. I did want to originally use the pre-installed wiring on my Journey, but the hassle and cost from the dealer was ridiculous. Installation was pretty straight forward, with the hardest part being just getting started. Installation was done by myself (it is possible), no lifting, and with basic home mechanic tools. Maneuvering to the rubber exhaust hangers was actually the hardest part. Proud of getting it done and love how it looks.
A big thank you to all the contributors on the forum. The information made my decision easier and have me the courage to do it myself.

Not that I know of... AFAIK, you forget to shut it off, it runs until it runs out of gas.

Why? Who cares... I love to see someone modify a DJ to make it fast. Not something that I personally would do, but I can always admire someone else's ingenuity and talent in something like this. It would certainly be a sleeper for those Saturday nite drag meets.

BrianS reacted to 2late4u in Trailer hitch list?
you should have bought a curt hitch like i did about $130 if i remember right bolted up no problem fit like a glove didnt have to remove fascia and metal bumper as you are going to have to do. about 2-3 inches between fascia and top of the hitch plenty of room. If i was you id go to amazon buy the curt hitch and then try to resell your other oem hitch on Craigs list for what ever you can get out of it... just my 2 cents worth. good luck on what ever you decide to do.......

BrianS got a reaction from jkeaton in Trailer hitch list?
Thanks, found that one already. Not the same hitch. Yes, I do realize that it mounts to the same points on the DJ, but mine has those 2 extra pieces that I have to figure out where they go.

BrianS got a reaction from jkeaton in Trailer hitch list?
Well, Google is INDEED my friend here.... I did another search and found this: Mopar hitch Not sure how I missed it before, but I did and that's that. Not exactly the same as this one has the reciever in a vertical position?? and mine is the standard horizontal position. This shows the 2 pieces that I wasn't completely sure about, and they go pretty much where I figured they went. Instructions call for removal of facia, AND metal bumper.

BrianS got a reaction from jkeaton in road trip
Tire shops here used to plug tires, but now they are not allowed to. They must remove the tire and install a patch/plug combination from the inside. I've used plugs for years and never had an issue, but I guess there was enough cases of the plug coming out that Big Brother decided they weren't safe any longer.

That sounds like a lazy mech to me... a little squirt of brake clean and the spilled fluid would be gone.
