1980 Toyota Corolla SR-5 Liftback - my first car:

screenaverpics001_zps37a9abdf.jpg

1988 Mazda 323 GT Sedan - turbocharged, intercooled 5 speed, very rare - only 800 imported into the US. More fun to drive than nearly anything:

Mazda323GTSpring19932_zps1d0565f7.jpg

1982 Toyota Tercel, A $300 piece of crap that I bought to get me through after the Mazda was wrecked and had to wait for an eternity for the insurance lawsuit to settle. No photo exists of the car because to waste film on it would have been sacrilege.

Fast forward a few years. Got married, along with my wife came this 1988 Mazda RX7 GXL 5-speed. We still have it. 49,000 mile survivor:

She also had a 1992 VW Fox 4 door 5-speed. Good little car, great on fuel, so homely that again a photo would have been a waste of film. Absolutely no fun to drive except for the stick shift. I've almost forgotten that we owned it.

1982 Volvo 240 DL. Inherited it from my father-in-law when he passed. 45,000 miles on it when we got it in 1999:

2000 Chrysler 300M. Still the best damn car I've ever owned. Shot this pic a couple of weeks ago just after she hit 307,000 miles. It runs every bit as well as it looks and still has yet to ever have a ride on a flatbed:

1999 Chrysler 300M. Bought this car in 2008 after it came in to my shop on trade with the front bumper fascia hanging off. Sold the Volvo on Ebay and used the proceeds to fix it up. Took it off the road in 2013 when we bought the Journey, stored it for a couple of years, and gave it to my son in November when he got his license: 141,000 miles and runs almost as well as my 2000:

And, of course, the reason we're here...

-1991 Ford Explorer - Eddie Bauer (just got rid of it two years ago...You do the math)

-1998 Ford Windstar (family was growing...4 kids)

-1998 BMW 528i (got a pt job just to keep it running, but fun)

I'm comparatively younger than most of you, But Ill list off what I'd consider to have been my 'Fleet', not necessary owned by me, but maintained exclusively by me. I'll include a TLDR with each.

1) 1996 Honda Accord

--- 5-Speed. My first Car, Dad bought it in 2011 for $1300 at 199,998 miles. Drove it 7 years till selling it for $700 at 262,000 miles. Blew smoke like a whaling ship.

2) 1998 Chevy Malibu

-- former GF's Car, Through a series of the original owner desperately needing to pay gambling debts, the owner sold it for $900, with 190,000 miles on it. She daily'd it for 5 years. GM3200 engine. Intake manifold TOTAL FAILURE. Long story short, there was coolant bubbling out the dip-stick tube... scraped for $250.

3) 2003 Kia Optima

-- Desperate for a car, former GF got this ( Actually pretty nice ) Kia. $900 dollars (140k miles), and a $75 dollar fuel line fix later, she drove it for 3 months... then rear ended by a city bus... desperate times call for desperate measures. She daily'd it on the freeway from January to March (Blizzards, ect), with the rear window tarped over, and the bumper sitting somewhere in the trunk. Sold to the next guy for $250.

4) 2000 Mercury Sable

Bought off my sister, (Dr. Sister leased a new Camry to hold her over till her future Audi), Former GF drove it for 6 months, and we broke up. Rust. Rust, Rush. Rust. Rust. She traded it in for a focus+Car payments. Wishing her the best!

5) 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan

Bought from Dad in 2018 for $1,500 to replace the honda. he bought it brand new, and kept amazing care of it.... and apparently i must have gotten a different one from the one he owned (lol) drove it for a month, and: Fuel leaks, Oil Leaks, Coolant Leaks, HVAC fan motor shot. Power Steering all start acting up. Drove it from Kalamazoo to NYC and back,  then retired it to the next guy. $350 for a fuel pump repair. $1,400 sold.

6) 2005 Ford Escape (Fwd)

New girlfriend, (now Fiance) sweet talked a car flipper into selling it to her for $2,300 instead of $3,200. Fun little car, but financially unadvisable to keep it insured while just collecting dust in the parking lot. Consolidated back to just my minivan, and just carpooled to work... Sold it for $2,700

7) Time to Upgrade! 2011 Dodge Journey

Job's doing well, saved up a lot. bought a replacement for the caravan. hoping to keep it around for at least 4 years.

Think that's it.

Annnnd... now we can add a '16 Dodge Grand Caravan Crew Plus to the list... SWMBO got tired of single handedly raising the stock price of the big oil companies and wanted to get rid of the Nitro.

Just added a new vehicle.  Retired the 1998 Honda Accord.  It needed 1000 dollars worth of repairs.  Not going to spend that on a 20 year old car.

2010 Ford Fusion 4 cylinder.  Great little town car.  We really like it, but it is no Dodge Journey!

A lot fewer problems with the Ford though!

Two to add:

One off-brand, our 'new to us' family car (AKA, my wife's car): 2019 Honda CR-V

2019 Ram Classic.

(Need to sell: the Grand Caravan and/or the Journey)

I also see that I failed to mention the 75 Dodge Dart slant-six I bought, and later gave to my oldest son.  (Needs some repair work, and currently not tagged.)
