Just an update to all, at the dealer now and they are replacing both plastic side-shields (no cost to me). If the parts break again then I guess I had nothing to lose other than an hour or so of my time. Thanks guys.

iv never had the drivers side break if you have had both break, i would take in put a screw thur the plastic towards the front side and about in the middle to reinforce the plastic clip that holds it on so it wont break again so easy...... take care

Not trying to resurrect an old thread but the Journey I just bought has this same issue.

The selling dealership is going to replace it but it's on back order right now.

Sounds like a common issue.

do yourself a favor and as soon as they replace it drill  a small hole thur the side towards the front top side and run a small black headed screw thur it to secure it to the metal frame so it wont break again..

To late, we have been driving that piece of crap with both the driver and passenger side trim busted. At this point that is the least of our worries.. The $1500 in transmission repairs to fix a front seal...and then $2500 to fix 2 broken drums in the back of the tranny is what pissed me off. $4 grand in a tranny plus 2 tow bills...and that is still not rebuilt! I will not buy another domestic vehicle as my next purchase.. To bad for them.. I have bought Dodge/Domestic products for 35 years...no more. This is absolutely crazy how much it has cost us to keep this pile of crap running!!..   Meanwhile, my brother the import driver (Who has the same kms all highway) changes his tires and 2 sets of brakes and that's it past oil changes...

Well, the truth hurts.. for Dodge anyways. To bad.. This experience has left a very bad taste in my mouth. And they (The Domestic CEO's) wonder why people are leaving the domestic manufacturers and buying other products.. I do understand most all parts are sourced in Asia/Mexico now because of cost. But why is it that other manufacturers are able to build a better quality product for the same money? Greed...that's why... The domestic manufacturers have had a lock on peoples spending habits for decades...but not anymore..

Hello Mr. Fix it,

We may be able to expedite the part. Send us a direct message with your VIN as we'd be glad to look further into this situation.

Hi Jasmine, I'm located in Canada. Would this make a difference in expediting the part??

The seat problem just keeps on going!  I had the same problem happen two weeks ago 6000 miles after my warranty expired :(

I ordered the panel, it came in three days and now i am ready to install it.  Does anyone have a hint on how to take the seat back adjustment handle off?  All the You tube videos magically skip that important part.  All the other parts a very self explanatory to remove and replace.

Thank you for any hints!

didnt replace mine but if and when you get it replaced YOU had better drill and run a screw thur the plastic to secure it to the metal frame or not to far down the road you will be doing it again....

not good with uploading pics, just somewhere towards the front and about in the middle feel behind the metal seat bracket for any wires and drill a small hole then add a small black headed screw. i did it kind of close to the bracket that attached the plastic cover to the metal seat bracket to give it more strength so it wouldn't break again and it hasn't....
