Sally Posted April 28, 2018 Report Share Posted April 28, 2018 New rotors and pads but when I need to apply pressure hard on brakes there is a loud noise like the brakes are bad. Or, something else is going on. Dealer suggested pads and rotor replacement, which was done 2 months ago, now the noise is back. Anyone else have this happen? Yesterday a traffic light changed, I had to apply brakes, hard, there was a non metallic but loud noise that I can only describe as creaking bones, that’s not a really good description but how do I put in words what it sounded like. OhareFred Posted April 28, 2018 Report Share Posted April 28, 2018 Who did the rotors and pads? Take it back to them and have them check it out. There could be any number of issues there. Dirt, sticking caliper, pads not sliding, etc. If you are not under warranty the dealer will charge you through the nose for brakes. Aftermarket brakes, I find, are always cheaper and usually better. I use ceramic brake pads, although a lot of people use semi-metallic. Either are fine if the job is done completely. let us know what they find! Since they did the work, any follow up cost to fix should be their responsibility. I’ll post the results of what they find. Thank you again, enjoy your week-end. jkeaton Posted April 29, 2018 Report Share Posted April 29, 2018 (edited) Could also be the ABS activating if you are pressing hard enough for the vehicle to interpret it as a panic stop situation. In which case, it is normal. You are going to have to demonstrate the issue to the dealer.
