  1. Approaching 40k miles and my Kuhmo's are gonna need to be replaced. I'm in Michigan and want the benefit of snow tire, but not the work/cost of adding a snow set to sit in my garage in the summer months, taking up space. Consumer's Report ranked Nokian WRG3's the best winter tire and they actually can be driven year-round. They are called "all weather" in lieu of the typical "all-season" because they are snowflake rated for winter. Only problem, the closest size they have to my needed 225/55/19's is 235/55/19. I have a 2014 R/T AWD. Anyone know if these will clear everything on sharp turns or cause problems? They will run 4/10 inch taller and 4/10 inch wider... I know if swapping sizes for tires in the winter, it is recommend slimming down the width 10 mm and increasing the sidewall height 5% in the winter months (from 225/55 to 215/60) to cut through the snow, but that's not an option for these tires, which I would really like to get. Will the increased width off-set the added benefit of this "all weather" tire? Journey buffs and tire experts...thoughts?
  2. They replaced my entire radio unit when that happened to me on my 2014 Journey R/T. It happened about one year after purchase date.
  3. I have a full tank. I will keep an eye (ear) out for the gas suggestion. I know what you are talking about and I think I get the ding about the gas as well. Thanks for the suggestions. I will let you all know what/when/if I figure it out. Thanks!
  4. While driving, I will get an occassional single ding. It sounds like if I needed an oil change or my seat belt wasn't on. However, there are no messages or anything displaying anywhere. Does anyone know what this means? I'm not sure, but I think it has been happening when I've been around 20 mph or less and have my foot on the brake. However, it doesn't always do this. I have tried to read up on it and perhaps it's a break light is out? Anyone have any idea?
  5. They have to replace the entire unit... Makes me nervous about when the warranty runs out... 12 months and major electronic parts are being replaced...ugh
  6. It is being looked at right now. I will update with results... Good thing I have the 3 yr. / 36 mo. warranty still!
  7. Thanks for the heads-up. I'm getting it to the dealer in the next couple days!
  8. Our 2014 Journey RT started doing the same thing. I believe this started happening exactly one year after purchase to the day. Sirius XM radio works currently and we already renewed so we don't lose our service. Upon Navigation star- up it reads "Can't Unlock Maps" I click "OK" and it then new box says "Detailed maps are required for routing. No detailed maps were found on this unit." After that, the box goes away and we get to the start screen. I click on VIEW MAP and there is a very basic map (missing small streets) and my car is way to the left of the road (even when driving on the road). I cannot click on the ADDRESS box (a box says "NO MAP DATA AVAILABLE") but can click on GO HOME and it gives me directions home. I cannot use food, fuel, lodging, but DEALER LOCATOR did work.. I am subscribed to Sirius Travel Link and Sirius Traffic, along with the radio according to the vehicle read out when I check...
  9. Is anyone aware of any leather covers for the DJ's key fob? I have seen some for other brands or years, but nothing that fits the 2k14 DJ.. Here is one for a Chevy Sonic... and here's what my key looks like... Any help would be great!
  10. I, too, have the V6. just remember the benifit of the four cylinder evertime you fill up. What gas milage are you getting with it?
  11. I see your interests are "Mods." I'm guessing that involves this new DJ? What are you thinking about doing?
  12. Thanks for all the answers! Great information! The AWD sounds quite thought out. p.s. The heating steering wheel has been great for the winter. My Aunt has a DJ and she said it's the best part of her DJ!
  13. Hello all! Just bought our first new car as a family. 2014 Dodge Journey R/T AWD. Quite pleased thusfar! I had a couple questions... 1. I have been trying to find specifics on the AWD system in the DJ. Do you know how much power (percentage) goes to the back tires when "slippage" is detected? Additionally, do you know how long it takes to "kick-in" or how long it will stay in AWD? No concerns, just wondering. Thanks. 2. Anyone had any problems with spillage or getting things stuck in the little holes of the perforated leather seating? I must have sat in something and it dried inside some of the perforated holes. I tried to wipe it off, but it dried in the little hole! Eventually we took a little pin and took care of it, but seemed a bit labor intensive. Suggestions? Experiences? 3. We have the free one year subscription to Sirius radio with Travel Link. Do you know... can you keep Travel Link for the $2 bucks a month without renewing the radio portion? We like the radio stations well enough, but being able to check fuel prices, the weather, movie times, and sports is quite awesome! 4. I have been riding in a Ford for work and they have a blind spot mirrior in the upper-left hand corner of the driver rear-view mirror. You can buy something comparable and put it on the mirror with foam tape. Has anyone done this? (It is the frog-eye looking lens). If so, where did you put it on the mirror? Different ones are recommending different spots. Just wondered... 5. With the SD card and USB slots...can you only play music? Can you view pictures? I heard you cannot watch video clips that are stored to them, but wondered about the music. Is there a max size for the SD card or USB key? I know certain android-type tablets only allow up to 32 gig external memory. Additionally, I am quite impressed with the attention to detail with regard to making the car kid friendly. We made sure to get the build in booster seats and drop-down 9" screen for the DVD player. Plus, the little stow-and-go options in the second row and under the passenger seat are genius! Thanks everyone!
