  1. If this is of any interest to anyone....I have a 2009 SXT AWD 7 passenger and the suspension is listed on the build sheet as "SDES Performance suspension" and under the options installed sheet it has "SBPP Performance steering" The vehicle has 19" wheels riding on Michelin 235/55/19 tires (approved upgrade). 2009 SXT AWD
  2. I see you have a 2009 SXT as I do (Canadian model here), to set the temperature from Celsius to Fahrenheit and vice versa press the left button in the dash below the speedometer #31 in the above diagram, whatever readout you are displaying will change to one temperature or the other by holding the button down until it changes then release, as you have noted all readouts will change to the new setting, metric all readings in metric, Fahrenheit all readings in U.S measurements. 2009 AWD SXT
  3. I am sure glad the original owner of my 2009 Journey bought the chrome clad wheels and it sure didn't hurt when I was buying it to see the nice chrome looking wheels, there was a time not to long ago when the front grill on cars was chromed metal but now like the Journey they are chromed plastic but look nice and are durable. Years ago I had chrome steel wheels on a Dodge Ram I purchased new and they had to be changed out after the first winter because of rust, so I have no problem accepting plastic chrome clad wheels today. 2009 SXT AWD Stone White
  4. The way I found the holes was to wipe off the bottom of the muffler and look to see where the water starts to seep out, the hole is flush drilled into the forward third of the muffler and would be hard to find if no water is present.
  5. You are right all cold engines put out water through the tailpipe outlet (hot exhaust, cold pipes, condensation) and the water that does not make it out the pipe drains from the bottom of the muffler, if muffler drain is 99% blocked the water builds up in the muffler and the tip-off is a constant drip from it/them 24/7 leaving a small puddle on the ground.
  6. Hi All, I bought my 2009 Journey AWD V6 used about 2 months ago and noticed from day one that there was water on the garage floor under the right muffler (looking from the rear). Today decided to go under the car and clean out the drain hole that is on the underside of muffler/s towards the front of the vehicle. Was I in for a surprise after using an awl to gently clear the small hole out on the muffler, a steady stream of water came out and was still draining "an hour" later, then took the Journey for a drive to warm up the engine/exhaust and then parked in the garage and it is still dripping out of that muffler, so how much water was in there? heaven knows. So if any of you have the dripping under the muffler try opening up the clogged drain hole, the other muffler (left side) was fine just wet around the drain hole. 2009 SXT AWD Stone White 63,000 k/m = 39,000 miles
  7. The fuel tank capacity for 2013 models...FWD is 78 liters and for AWD it is 81 Liters, hope this helps you with the calculations.
  8. From goodcarbadcar.org.....US sales of the Journey for February 2013 were- 7,530.......Canada 1,906 2009 SXT AWD Stone White
  9. Hi biohazard, from what I have read by AWD tire specialists on the web, they say in the situation you have mentioned you do have to replace all the tires if the remaining 3 tires have less than 50% tread life left on them, that equates to...50% tread life = 5/32" of an inch this has to be measured with a proper tire depth gage, a new tire has 10/32" of an inch tread depth, if anyone has other information on this please inform us. 2009 SXT AWD Stone White
  10. Hi again bramfrank, after what DennyB from Dodge Cares has said today...we do have an intelligent AWD system, so all the AWD Journey owners can sleep peacefully now.
  11. Thank you DennyB, that is what I wanted to hear, to recap my understanding of it then, using the limited use spare wheel would trigger the AWD/ABS controller to disengage the electrical coupling at the rear differential assembly and that would shut down AWD system, staying disengaged until the problem of wheel size is corrected...excellent, thank you again. 2009 SXT AWD Stone White
  12. Hi Windancer, Costco sales rep did ask me about the size upgrade and I explained it is about none availability in my area of the 225/55/19 tires size at least at the stores I had asked for them (Costco does not list that size either). I also directed them to this website if they needed confirmation on the upgrade size by a Chrysler representative at DodgeCares (Chris) who kindly posted the service advisory for the alternative tire size if needed. I have yet to have them installed as they are on order, if there is a problem at that time I have the information on a USB drive I can plug in to show them the information I have on the subject, the tires should be in this week. 2009 SXT AWD Stone White PS: Tires were installed today 235/55/19 Michelin Latitude HP on the 8th Mar-2013, no problems, ride and handling are great again.
  13. Thanks again Chris for the information, I ordered the "Michelin Latitude Tour HP 235/55/19" today from Costco they will be in next week, Michelin is also giving a $70 rebate (0n four tires purchased) for April 1st-May 26th I say this incase anyone is also needing new tires and this is one option for you to consider.
  14. Thank you for the information bramfrank, here is a thought I have on this... I wonder why...that when the computers for the AWD system do notice a mismatch for whatever reason it does not lock out the final drive clutch that is electronically controlled and illuminate the I/panel warning light till you correct the problem thus causing no damage to the system, this unit does not use a viscous coupling. The AWD as used on the Journey is a Borg Warner model: ITM 3e 2009 SXT AWD Stone White
