No skips or hiccups. It's FAT 32 and nothing special for the SD card. I tried to select by genre, but it doesn't work. It also shows the album cover but it's rather small. You're right on the money as to the structure of the file- artist in main folder. It's amazing the number of songs that you can put on the SD cards. I just did a simple download and that was it.

Sure it does. Counting might not be important in Alabama, but tell that to the cops when you get caught speeding in Canada.

Welcome to the forum. If you check further into the transmission section, you'll find that there is a lot of discussion on this particular topic. It's sometime noticeable at first start up when the transmission is cold. Many forum members have found that if you put it in neutral first a few seconds before shifting into drive it makes a difference.

You hit the nail on the head. Consumer reports has never given a positive report on any Dodge product. Definitely biased.

Welcome to the forums! Congratulations on your new Journey! I bought mine in December and while I did like it, it took some time for me to be able to LOVE it. I say that because in time you find all the nifty little features more and more useful as time goes by. For instance, I didn't really appreciate all the little cubbies until I went to a Jimmy Buffet concert, where I stocked up all the beer and ice for tailgating in the floor coolers under the second row. Also when suddenly a group of 5 became a group of 6 or 7... As time goes by you'll find that it's great at being versatile and adapting to your needs. Plus since yours seems to be within the factory warranty you may be able to purchase an extended warranty (unlimited miles and years) direct from Dodge (well, mopar). I would be sure to check on that as soon as possible because with all the electronics in cars a single repair can easily be the cost of the warranty itself. Other than that just enjoy it, and keep us updated!

Does the radio work?  If it does then you at least can get it into accessory mode.  Could this be as simple as a bad park position sensor?

Have you tried the emergency backup procedure for the FOB (which is to press the plastic end of the FOB against the starter button instead of your finger)?  It uses a secondary proximity tag and reader.

Have you tried disconnecting the battery for a half hour to see if resetting the computers will bring it back to life?

If you're out of ideas it is time to let the dealer have a go at it.

well i also have a 2014 crossroad with 58 k on it no problems with my rotors just checked my pads and they look like over half the pads are still left, never had any problems with my sunglass console on any either of my journeys, sometimes my trans gives me a hesitation once in a while like it is trying to find the gear for the speed i am going doesn't worry me a bit. my divers seat every so often might move back or forward a quarter of an inch  just enough for me to feel and then it doesn't do it again for a long time so no big deal, my dealership is great so i would suggest to find a different dealer as you are not tied to the one you bought from. i pass up the closest  dodge dealership to me ( as they are they worst dealership) to go to. the one i like and have bought most of my vehicles from over the years is about 10 miles furthest but worth the drive. glad you like your journey as i really love mine.

Great review of your experience.   I have been very happy with my DJ too.  I got the unlimited miles warranty as well.  I hope I never need to use it, but I have it.  I have to agree with the transmission complaint.  Like you said, not a problem, but more response and better shift points would be nice.  I mostly hate the acceleration lag in drive.  I go into manual when I know I need power.  Overall great vehicle, IMHO.

    Peace.

So I hit 6 months and have managed to put a whopping 9k on my crossroad plus DJ. The honeymoon phase is over and I have quite a bit more to say about it now. Hopefully if anyone is considering buying one and checks out the site it'll help them out a bit. I spent a few weeks lurking around here myself before making the purchase!

    0 problems!

    Things I'm fond of:
Engine: The engine is great, can be a little loud when it's warming up but everyone I know who has a dodge or jeep has the same noise upon startup. Really the only thing that hampers the engine is the trans. 1st, and 2nd gear are great, but when I hit 3rd gear it's like all the power has been sapped away. Something with the gearing is off, it's not a specific problem per se, just an odd shift point that they programmed into the trans. Oil life is great too, the little message telling me to change the oil hasn't come up yet but I'm going to take it in next week to get it done anyways.

Drive: Really composed, bumps don't do much to startle it, and on decent surfaces it's really smooth. This is surprising to me because I overinflated the tires by a few psi. When I bought it during the winter the tire pressure monitor kept going off so I just inflated the tires to 38 and all was well. Very quiet inside also, wind noise gets kind of audible over 65-70mph but that's about it.

Head Unit: I was kind of scared when I heard how many people on here had problems with theirs, but nothing wrong with mine *fingers crossed*! It's probably the best and easiest system to use. I do kind of wish it came with the UConnect apps like all the other dodge models, but I can't complain at all.

Looks: I can't say enough how great I think it looks, especially the crossroad trim. Clean lines, nice wheels, and the blacked out grill are awesome. I finally got a small dent at the grocery store the other day, which you'd think it's a bad thing but after the first dent is usually when I calm down and stop parking in the WAAAY back of the parking lot so I'm not all that upset about it.

Space: Tons of space and cool little hiding places. I've used the third row exactly 0 times, but I love that it's there, just waiting. Sometimes I'll even prop it up for a few days! The cubbies under the second row floor are great too. Went to a Kenny Chesney concert and stocked them up with some ice and beers to drink in the parking lot and that's about the only time they've come in handy, again just cool knowing they are there.

    Things I'm in between about:
Gas Mileage: I averaged about 17 for the longest time, with an even mix of city and highway driving and my very light left foot. The saving grace with the mileage though is that the gas tank is huge, a little over 20 gallons if I'm correct, and that allows you to go pretty darn far. Last week after non-stop driving to NC I reset the trip computer for the drive home and average 26.3mpg. I was so excited I rushed over to the gas station to fill up and see if I would get the elusive 500 miles DTE that Dodge advertised and I certainly did! The weirdest things give me joy these days!

Reliability: I have no reason to doubt the reliability of my DJ yet, but for peace of mind I went and got the MaxCare warranty from dodge, unlimited miles and years. Between the odd behavior of the transmission, and hearing about random things going awry way before they should kind of leaned me toward this. If you are interested in getting it, call in to purchase it, over the phone they can give you a 0% interest plan for 24 months instead of the 12 you get online.

    Things I'm not fond of:
Electronic features: This is probably me being a little persnickety, but a few weeks ago I started to get a little irritated about the power windows, and seats. The auto-down feature is great, but why isn't there an auto-up? I live in a gated community and so it rolls down automatically then I tap it to go up and have to remind myself it doesn't go back up automatically. The power seats are funny, they move fore and aft via power, up and down via power, and the lumbar is power adjustable. NOT THE RECLINE THOUGH! Again it's just an oddity that I have to remind myself of whenever I go to adjust my seat. You think by now I would have grown accustomed to these little things but I haven't yet.

My Dodge Dealer: They are probably the worst people and whenever I talk to another person who owns a chrysler dodge or jeep they say the same thing. When I bought the car I actually refused to work with the first guy that came out to talk to me because he wouldn't listen when I tried to tell him what I want. Him and another sales person got into an argument right in front of me too, very unprofessional.... and it was really awkward.

Things I wish I would have done differently:
    1. Gotten a sunroof
    2. Paid a little less, MSRP was 36k and some change, I ended up paying 31k but I noticed others are getting much better deals.
    3. Waited? I bounce around in my head a lot as to whether I should have waited or not. Dodge is going to refresh the DJ sometime soon (hopefully), and if they are smart they'll address the shortcomings of this model. I have this DJ now for as long as the wheels turn so I may have to deal with being envious of next-gen DJ owners!

well pulled my front and rear to check the pads on my 2014 crossroad and they all still look like new i always change my own and on my 2011 i replaced the rears at 60k and they were not that bad but had already bought them and my 2014 has 58 k on it so i am tickled pink on how they are holding up.... also i am on a Facebook dodge group and some guy posted a clip of his journey making a loud pounding noise and the sound of it  whether he was going fast or slow and of course he is kind of talking bad about his pos dodge, well at least to his credit he did come back 2 days later and said well the noise is fixed and it was front wheels being loose....LOL  so now he says well i am going to trade it in for an Audi  so i posted back letting him know that Audis have to have their wheels on tight also...

Hey I'm just letting you know that I think I fixed the problem. I replaced the spark plugs on my Journey 2011 3.6L, I also changed the upper intake manifold gasket and I pourred a bottle of STP fuel system cleaner EXTRA in with a full tank. I also cleaned the throttle body and did a oïl change with CASTROL HGH MILLEAGE. I think it was a combination of both probably a dirty fuel system with dirty spark plugs. Now the engine runs pretty smooth and no more stalling whatever reverse or drive and no more hesistation.

I read somewhere in this forum who had problem with his tranmission not shifting and it was a clogged filter in the fuel pump who caused his problem.

Why do people put up with this kind of service?  I had my sunroof fixed in 1 visit when it leaked .  The dealer replaced the entire freaking thing because they knew I would keep coming back until it didnt leak!  You pay big money for something new, it better be right or fixed!  If they refuse to fix it, keep going in.....

The ABS recall includes replacing the ABS module (and a few other components) if needed.  If you just recently had the recall performed, there is a good chance of corroded wires that finally gave up after being handled by a mechanic.  I would press the dealership to read the code at their expense because of the high chance of something having been damaged as a result of their repair and deteriorated ABS module, which would still be covered under the recall.  If the ABS module has failed, then it failed because it was left open to potential corrosion for years before FIAT opened the recall to have it corrected.

If the code is not related directly to the wiring harness or the ABS module, then you're on your own - it would be low brake fluid (possibly because it just needs pads) or wheel speed sensors (which are part of the wheel bearing/hub assembly).  There is a write up on this site that has the steps for replacing wheel hubs in the DIY section (I know it's there because I wrote it...)

my daughter had her brake light come on while i was on vacation and she called me about it,so i was close to a dodge dealership so i went down and asked them what could cause it,of course couldn't get me no real answers out of them and i said her rear drums hadn't ever been changed and could that be it and they said no. well when i got home i popped off the rear wheels and sure enough they were wore slap out so i replaced them and i guess from the low pressure from no pads caused the light to come on. so wouldn't hurt to have someone check your pads all the way around and look for other problems crimped or loose wires...

Most auto parts store scanners don't read the BCM, which is what controls ABS. You may get lucky, maybe not. Call first.  Check your brake fluid level and did you tell the dealer the light came on after the ABS recall fix? I'd press them on that. Did you get any paperwork listing any warranty for the repair?  Another thing you can do is pull each wheel and inspect the sensor, tone ring and wiring.
