  1. 2012 sxt v6 6-speed....my only peeve is the damn emergency brake...I bump my leg/ankle on it ever morning...it is too low to the floor and you can not get your foot under it.
  2. MY 2012 Journey SXT 3.6L 6-speed auto. Has had this issue since almost day one, but It was so intermit...under 30 mph...if you hit certain types of pavement irregularities, there is a rattle, clunk, rattle, clunk sound....from the front end, Now our roads in Florida a fairly flat and smooth..so it is hard to duplicate. It has progressively gotten worse as the miles have gone now...Not at15000 miles..it seems to be more common. but still only certain perfect conditions...Hard to duplicate for the dealer. It comes across as a cross member beam loose, strut loose...something...just wondering if anyone else has heard this sound. BTW: had the tranny flashed....best it has ever shifted.. had the fuel gauge flashed/ TSB done fuel module replacement--cured the fuel level issues. Other then that and this loose rattle sound..no other issues..Luv it so far....
  3. I ordered the Dodge part #77KICK41 kit from my local Dodge dealer(the dealer may ask you for your VIN # and then tell you it does not fit your car, but it does) or EBAY. Most Dodge dealers do not have it in stock and have to order it in. You can also goto www.kicker.com and goto the contacts and ask them for the kit numbers for the "upgraded" system. Also on Kicker's website there is a Mopar tab and there is a chart with ALL the part numbers listed for all the Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/Ram vehicles. This is the guy who helped me at kicker, the part numbers may or may not be the same for the Alpine system replacements. Brett Nicely Product Specialist bnicely@kicker.com 405.624.8510 ext.7527

    Mopar/Kicker install

    Kicker install pic's
  5. Mopar/Kicker speaker upgraded has been completed in the rear doors so far. (front system has been ordered) Just so everone knows, yes Kicker makes a upgrade for the Journey AVP,SE,SXT with stock 6 speakers, but for some reason(Alpine????) they dont seem to advertise it or want anyone to know. If you write to Kicker like I did, they will also give you the same Mopar part number. 77KICK41 is the part number for the rear doors...they are 6x9's....same kit used in most all Chrysler cars...as a matter of fact, when we took off the stock base speaker, it has the same part number stamped on it that were in my 2011 Ram 1500 when i replaced them with this same kit! After much fussing with the door, we got it off...hint, the door handle trim plate pops off and there are two screws there to remove, then the door comes...need to lift it up to get off..not as easy as it may seem...slow n steady best approach. I HIGHLY recommed spending the $10 for the door removal tool, it is plastic and works perfectly and you do not damage anything....ie: paint.. As you can see by the pictures it is a direct fit...and the sound is so much better. I have used the Mopar/Kicker upgrade kits in my 2007 300SRT8,2008 Sebring Conv't and 2011 Ram 1500 reg cab. So being famalier with them, i personally like them. The nice thing is that the Dodge wire connector is already attached and you just plug it in... Will give some pictures and update when the front kit comes in..
  6. What i do not understand is, your car is a leased company car, why do you really care? You did not buy it, your company has a 5 year lease on it. Sometimes when we do not like something we nit pick it too death. Maybe if you starting just driving it you may find they are actully great cars.
  7. AND IF YOU NOTICED IN THE BOTTOM LEFT OF THAT GALLERY PIC YOU HAVE, IT SAYS....DO YOU WANT TO GO BUILD YOUR DURANGO... Alpine has some touchup in the art dept to do....!
  8. NO,,,that is a pic of the Charger or Durango you click back too. CLICK ON THE DODGE LOGO.....CLICK ON THE PIC OF THE JOURNEY ON THE RIGHT SIDE. OF THE PAGE. CLEARLY IN THE PIC IT PULLS UP IS THIS. A PIC OF 4 6X9 2 3/5 A WOOFER AND AMP. IF YOU LOOK AT THEN THE BOTTOM LEFT CORNER YOU WILL SEE SILOUTTE PIC OF THE JOURNEY.CLICK ON THAT AND IT BRINGS UP A CROSS SECTION THAT SHOWS WERE THE 6 SPEAKERS ARE AND THE AMP AND WOOFER. I see no confusion on this at all.....none....clearly Alpine and Dodge's press release says: a premium sound system,,,,,NOT 7.1 OR 9 SPEAKERS. IN THE JOURNEY. THE SYSTEM DEMOSTRATION ON ALPINE CLEALRY SHOWS ONLY 6 SPEAKERS. AND IT SHOWS EXACTLY WERE THEY ARE LOCATED. THE AMP IS UNDER THE PASSENGER SEAT, THE WOOFER IS THE DRIVER REAR COMPARTMENT AND THE SPEAKERS ARE IN THE DOORS AND 3.5 ARE IN THE DASH. DODGE AND ALPINE DID THE BEST THAT THEY COULD WITH THE LIMITATIONS OF THE CAR. PART OF THE PROBLEM IS IN BOTH REAR/FRONT DOORS THERE IS A MOUNTING DEPTH PROBLEM OF 2.6" ONLY,WHICH LIMITS YOU GREATLY ON SPEAKER REPLACEMENTS. (TRY AND FIND SOME 6X9 WITH THAT MOUNTING DEPTH,NEARLY IMPOSSIABLE) THE WOOF AND AMP ARE WHAT THEY ARE. MAYBE IN THE REDESIGN THEY WILL TRY AND PUT A BETTER SYSTEM IN IT,BUT FOR NOW THIS IS WHAT THE FACTORY GIVES YOU AND UPGRADED FROM THE BASS SYSTEM, BETTER SPEAKERS AND WOOF AND AMP. LETS REMEMBER THAT THE AVP,SE,SXT ALL ARE STANDARD WITH NOTHING MORE THEN 6 CHEAP SPEAKERS,WHICH I HAVE AND THIS SYSTEM IS CLEARLY AND UPGRADE FROM THAT, A BETTER PREMIUM SYSTEM
  9. Not sure of the European is programmed differenty but: on my 2012 Dodge Journey SXT V6 on the information screen menu i scroll down to: "Vehicle information" push arrow button that points to the right....then if you look in the upper left corner of the display screen, it shows you to "arrow down" and then next engine function comes up. it is a very small arrow displays.
  10. After you click on DODGE logo, then the JOURNEY logo and after the picture pulls up. If you click on the left side where you see like a siloutte of the speakers, the Journey will pop up and shows you a cross section fo were everthing is.
  11. "Funny thing is, when you look through their gallery and system layout pages, for the Journey, it says that it has the 9 speaker, 7.1 surround sound system, so it doesn't even look like Alpine know what they are giving Dodge, let alone Dodge knowing" Not sure what picture you looked at: http://www.experiencealpine.com/ THEN CLICK ON THE DODGE LOGO, THEN CLICK ON THE PIC OF THE JOURNEY ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE SCREEN, it shows you a pic, of 4 6x9 speakers, 2 3.5speakers, the amp and the woofer. " Dodge including a 7.1 channel surround sound system available on the Durango and Charger, and a premium audio system available on the Charger and Journey" THE 7.1 IS ONLY ON THE DURANGO AND CHARGER....
  12. Also, clink on the link and then pick the Journey pic and it will show u a picture of the system and a sound demo: http://www.experiencealpine.com/
  13. 14. Yes, i understood it was only the black side rails....and the parts are only about retail $160.00..Which i offered to pay the labor, IF Dodge or the dealer supplied the parts. They all said no... So..the surveys (new car,Warranty, service) will hurt them way more then the cost of the rails at $ $100.00 would have. Mind you we are talking about two brand new vehicles from the same dealer within 45 days of each other. I'm actually on my way to drop it off for lot damage to get fixed and they will have it for a week..so you never know, but somehow black roof rails may just show up on it if the dealership and Dodge are wise. We all on this forum and Dodge cares rep know, how much those surveys mean to the dealer prinicple, salesman. service and parts manager in backend money. One zero survey hurts deeply...never mind two.
  15. to:2late 4u. My point to him was. If "katie" could not resolve this issue on Tuesday, when her and I emailed back and forth. Why should he be able too? If someone who represants your company makes a decision..they should stick with it and not be overruled. He simply copied her final response to me...almost word for word... My other point to him was: If my sticker price was less then the current SE then he would have a point. BUT my sticker price is exactly the same as one with a luggage rack.
