  1. Thanks for the info on that. I bought mine new so it will be awhile before I get another new vehicle but the info may help those with the 2010 (and 2009?) Journey... I think the way they keep changing things in these new cars, my next one may be a 1956 Dodge, at least I still remember how to work on those, and I still have the tools to do it LOL....
  2. I did a search trying several keywords but nothing came up so I'll ask here, if I missed a thread let me know. I want to put a grab handle on the passenger side of my Journey so the wife has something to hang on to when I'm making a turn. I don't make turns at NASCAR speeds but she's used to grabbing one from when I had my old car, and besides, it's nice to have. I've been checking periodically but so far, nothing strikes me as useable. Is there anyone on here that has added one to their Journey? If so then when kind? I don't mind using an aftermarket product or one that was for another Mopar car, just as long as it works, is stable, and can be installed with not to much effort. Thanks
  3. I guess I made a mistake, from reading these posts (maybe I misread them) you can't change the radio installed in the Journey, or maybe it's just the hi-end ones with all the fancy doo-dads your talking about. I have a 2010 Journey but I didn't really care for the AVS (u-connect) system the had so I just got the basic 6 disc/am-fm radio with no satellite radio even, I forget the model number but you know the one. I wanted to put my own after-market one in, so I did. I did a lot of checking and finally setteled on the Pioneer AVH-3200DVD but the 4200 would work too. I didn't get the bluetooth model because I don't use a cell phone. I installed it with little effort, the biggest problem was the heavy gauge support bracket in the back, the one the OEM radio fit in to, I had to spread it out so the 3200 would fit through it, not a big deal though. I checked a lot of places and 99.8% said this a/v system would not fit the Journey but I checked the dimensions left, right, up, down, back etc etc... and all the numbers said it would fit, I guess no one thought to modify the bracket I mentioned. I also bought the GPS add-on for the 3200 and in the future I'll buy the backup camera too but I don't drive enough to warrant buying the satellite add-on and paying their user fees. I put it all in and had it running in about 3 hours but keep in mind, I took pictures of everything before I started and made a plan on how I would do it before I even started, spreading the heavy support brace for the 3200 to fit through was the hardest part but it all fits like a glove now and works fantastic. I also added the DVD by-pass for this unit, for those that don't know what that is, look it up. I was going to have someone install it for me but they came up with installation fees that would make Bill Gates flinch so that's why I did it myself, and I'm glad I did, in fact, I would not recommend you letting someone else do it or even trying it yourself unless you know 100% you (or whoever) can tackle it, but, if you can, and if you have the basic radio like I did, it sure is worth it. The first time I took it back to the dealer for an oil change they made the comment about how much nicer this was, in every way, to the original radio I had. So there you have it, the Pioneer AVH-P3200DVD/BT (or AVH-P4200DVD/BT) will fit, the new model is the 3300 & 4300 but it looks to be the same dimensions. I'll see if I can post a couple pictures below so you can see the fit. Hope that helps those looking for a change in radios..... This is the radio I installed alone and in place: This was before I installed the 3200:
