About 2.7L- journey to Australia

  1. I have received no notification about this warranty extension. I phoned our local Dodge dealer today and enquired about warranty on the brakes and was told it had been extended to 24 months / 40,000km. We need new front rotors and pads after travelling only 24,000km. Not happy!! Looking at ways to upgrade the braking system after this warranty expires because we really love the car, just a shame it didn't come with big enough brakes for the weight of the car... Brett - Adelaide, South Australia (2010 RT 2.7L FWD)
  2. Last week we took our 2010 RT 2.7L FWD in for it's 24,000km scheduled service and were told that our front rotors need to be machined or even replaced and front pads need replacing. After reading our warranty handbook I saw that the Brakes (disc rotors, pads, linings, and drums) are only covered for 12months or for 20,000km, whichever occurs first, both of these we have exceeded. So I called our local Dodge dealer questioning why we are having these problems on such a new car and that I really wasn't very happy about it. I was told today that the warranty on the brakes has now been extended to 24 months or 40,000km... interesting... My car goes into the Dodge workshop on Wednesday... Will let you all know how it goes....
  3. Hello fellow Journey owners.. We purchased our new Journey R/T 2010 model approximately 1 month ago. We were initially impressed with the dark window tinting on all rear windows, but always thought we'd tint the two front windows also.. We were told today by our window tinter that all of our rear windows offer no UV protection at all... Quite a concern when you are carrying children in the car and have beautiful leather seating... Our two front windows are now tinted in a UV safe tint. We enquired about getting a UV safe film fitted to all rear windows to protect our children and interior and will cost about $250 to get it done. Not sure if what I have been told is correct or not by our window tinter.. Just thought I'd put it out there for discussion and feedback in this forum....
  4. well, it was made over there in the US, you guys know what you are doin' or what ???
  5. Only 3000 km on it far... Need to do something about all this brake dust on the front wheels..
  6. Hi there, I'm 35 years old. I am a commercial refrigeration technician in Adelaide, South Australia. I am married with two children. I do not use this vehicle for work, I have a 4L dual cab Hilux for that.. Bye 4 now!!!
  7. Hi there, our 2010 R/T came with uconnect and infinity sound system.. I was of the understanding that these were standard on an R/T. Maybe they do things a little different with the 2.7L exports. Uconnect, infinity sound system and leather trim are the main reasons why we paid a little more for the R/T, instead of the SXT....
  8. Hi there, my wife and I just recently made the decision to buy a journey. We picked up an ex-demo 2010 R/T with about 2000km's on it. So far we are very happy with the car. I wish the 3.5L AWD model was available in Australia also... oh well, guess i'll get a bit better fuel economy with the 2.7L. I only found and joined this site today, but am keen to read the forum's on all the goods and bads with the journey. I am also interested in checking out the custom and factory modifications and accessories people have chosen.. Will post some photo's soon.. Bye 4 now!!
