  1. So it looks like it's a wiring or connectivity issue. I went back to check it out and with my running lights turned on (headlights and tail lights). I was occasionally getting a flicker out of both of the round LED light assemblies on the driver side rear. I opened and closed the trunk to see if that had any effect and it didn't seem to matter. So it sounds like a loose wire somewhere. it's probably more than I want to fight with. I have a good reasonably priced mechanic and I'll have him take care of it
  2. I have not checked for power at the light yet, I will do that. Since the brake lights work in both housings, which should have much less use, the wiring might be the culprit. Will report back. Thanks for the input.
  3. Hey guys hope everybody's having a great 2023. I have a 2016 crossroad. And I just dropped my wife off somewhere this evening and she said as I drove away the driver side tail lights were out both sections, but the brake light was working fine. So I did a quick look when I got home in the driveway and sure enough both sections of the driver side tail light do not illuminate but the brake light portion works. Is that faulty tail light assemblies or a wiring issue? I find it strange that both sections have died at the same time.
  4. Thank you so much for that detailed response. Yeah that's the stuff I saw when I was looking on Amazon, so I ordered two quarts of it. I'll go ahead and do the transmission as well, even though the manual doesn't say it's required. Fluid is so cheap it's the smart thing to do. I found what looks like the right stuff on Amazon, some Mopar ATF +4. I guess my mechanic will know how much to add, but if you've got a number that'll help as well. According to Amazon this transmission filter is for my car. Does this look like the right thing or is there a different brand or style I should be looking for?
  5. I noticed from another post on this site it needs Mopar 75w-90 for the RDA and PTU. It sounds like I could probably use another brand but would like some confirmation from other people as the Mopar is kind of hard to get and overpriced. However if it's the right stuff, I have no problem using it. It looks like it's also synthetic although the useless owners manual does not describe either the weight of oil or type that needs to be used. I guess they really want you to take it to the dealership and that's probably why this is omitted.
  6. Hey guys my 2016 Dodge journey crossroad is at 60,000 miles and I'm going to be getting that service done next week. The service guy I have does all the work I just bring parts and fluids etc. Only thing I've really done on the car since buying it is change tires and had the front struts replaced twice under warranty. It looks like I've got to do transmission and a couple other fluids. Looking for advice on recommended fluids (brand and type) and any service that you would recommend checking or doing that may not be listed in the manual. Or any other good knowledge that you have to share. Thanks!
  7. thanks for the reply I PM'd you as well because I did not check the thread to see if you had replied. I was supposed to get email updates but apparently they're going to junk mail so I assume no one had replied. I will probably just live with it because my brother had an issue like this in his truck and after they were done he had three new rattles. taking apart plastic that's never meant to the disrupted is always a bad thing.
  8. I registered here just so I could respond to this thread. I came here looking for the same information as the original poster. I have the exact same rattle you describe Center of Dash close up by the windshield definitely underneath the dash plastic. I have tried everything to get it to go away and nothing seems to work. Has anyone found a solution? To the original poster, did you get the dealer to fix this at all. Is it worth even showing it to them. Mine is totally repeatable as soon as I get to 75 miles an hour on the freeway it starts and does not go away until I back down to about 65 miles an hour. It is completely 100% repeatable. Do you guys suggest I take this to the dealer? Do you think they will actually do a ride along out on the freeway for me to show them? Like those of us that have this issue have said it seems like a small thing but when you're doing a multi hour drive on the freeway turning your stereo up just to block a dash rattle can be a bit frustrating
