  1. Thanks for info so far Is there a way I can confirm the gearbox type in my journey? Only because I believe it to be the Gertrag 6DTC450 (MPS6) but would like to confirm this, Looks like transmission oil change possible from a quick look and it talks about draining 3 different chambers model is SXT CRD 2.0l diesel currently looking at at getting rid of the car as it is, being valued! Also plan on speaking to a automatic box specialist on his opinion i will still research myself also in between this

I not upset, Jkeaton original post for me isn’t worth posting, doesn’t help the situation and how people can like it or love it is beyond me, Sorry I just feel it’s for the sake of posting getting there counts up ect I understand that most people reading are owners and enthusiasts but sometimes on the forums there are more people with technical knowledge but to carry out As per what I have been told would pass the value of the car! Going off my only Information so far, which is vague. im not saying I have to do it also! I just though I may get some information, to be honest I should ask more direct questions! I need to do more research myself first! Not expecting a mirical by a forum post but some people with experience can have some good tips ect.

My post was probably a bit vague, but yourself you would be happy with the possibility to replace the TCM at a cost of a part that looks like it’s £1000 with the possibility that’s it’s not the and actually the transmission, I’m no expert by far and my knowledge of automatic transmissions is probably zero! but as far as fault finding is concerned it worry’s me this is the comment of a moderator and people are actually liking and loving it! Is there an award for most likes in a day or something? I’m probably need to ask separate questions and throw them out there but I thought I would just put my problem out there and hopefully I may get a good few pointers or past issues

Wondering in any one can help, I have a dodge journey 2.0 crd sxt auto 2009 in the UK . my problem first started when starting the car in the morning and driving off in drive, the automatic gearbox wouldn't change out of first gear, stopping the car turning the ignition off and restarting again and the car would be fine no issues going through the gears, it would do this every morning. the engine management light was on also but not sure of error codes at this time, The car was due an MOT and a look into the issue. The night before it was due to be looked at the situation got worse after pulling into a car park, the car wouldn't drive at all, even selecting reverse there is nothing the car would just rev up, putting into semi auto and trying to select the gears as soon as you put it in it would jump from 1st to 2nd, shifting the selector left and right would have no affect. the car was recovered to a local garage and the engine management comes up with the following P2849 Shift fork 1 stuck P284B Shift fork 3 stuck P1759 function select solenoid 2 control circuit performance So my local garage have told me its most likely the transmission control module at around 1000-1500 and the worst case a gearbox at around £5000-£6000 I'm an electrician/auto on heavy construction equipment so willing to carry out work myself. Any help is appreciated Lee
