Can't Unlock Maps

Hey how are you? I'm Julio I'm from Australia! Any one on here that's from Australia?? I've got 2014 journey R/t. I have read all the comments as mine has come up with Can't load maps Qn The whole unit has to be replaced? Why does it do that? What could cause it?
