  1. Wife just called and told me the turn signal is out, so I haven't had a chance to check it myself yet...maybe it's 'out' as in 'I hit a deer and it's missing' but I'm assuming it's just dead. What's the procedure for changing it - screws from the outside or a godforsaken event moving things in the engine compartment? My searches on it came up empty.
  2. My parent's Journey had the power steering hose blow again. Took three days to get fixed because of *gasp* a shortage of hoses. I wonder if they realize it's an issue yet.
  3. My Journey was in twice for the blown power steering line. Fixed same day both times. My parents bought a 2010 RT as well and they've had their power steering hose go as well. When the guy arrived to tow it to the dealer, he said he'd just dropped off another with the same problem. Obviously there's some kind of issue with the lines, at this point. I don't think taking it to the dealer and having them top it up every day would be an acceptable solution. My parents Journey was pouring fluid out as fast as it was poured in, so you'd be driving 'dry' in no time.

  5. Any link showing the recall? I didn't hear anything about it.
  6. The service guy said the line is rupturing. I asked if it was the clamp or fitting, thinking there might be a heavier duty one they could try.
  7. I like the de-badging. Not so sure on the blackout tails, I'd have to see them in action. What kind of difference do the parking lights provide?
  8. The only thing I really don't understand is that if the Journey is really as popular as Dodge claims, and by looking at all of them cruising the streets here I'd say they're not exaggerating their claims by much....why are the tires still so freaking scarce? If this is a top-selling model, why isn't some tire company jumping to be the main supplier of rubber? It's a captive market!
  9. I'm not sure what forum this belongs in, but it seems the best fit for here so here goes. My wife called me a week and a half ago to tell me that the Journey was acting "weird" Yeah...great info, honey. I get home and start it up and can hear what she means. Sounds like the power steering pump, and backing the vehicle up a couple feet shows me a puddle. Take it to the dealership and they fit it in the afternoon schedule. They say it's a blown hose, not uncommon in the ridiculously cold weather we've been having, routinely minus 20-30 (celsius). Last night I command start it and hear the same ungodly racket. Check underneath and sure enough, it's blown the hose again. Twice inside a month, that's not good. I've been careful with it, and told my wife to be as well, not to crank the steering wheel too much when it's cold...even though that shouldn't be necessary. There should be no way you can build up enough pressure, even with cold fluid, to blow the line consistently. Anyone else have this issue?

  11. Haven't had an issue with the brakes or alarm on ours yet, 20k in. The Journey was replacing a Mazda that had the same problem though, the alarm would go off in the middle of the night randomly. It would reset just by hitting the button though, and after a week or so I just started hitting the button on the remote without getting out of bed. I doubt I even woke up a couple times lol The problem turned out to be a loose/frayed wire and loud (usually bass) stereos. If someone drove by with loud tailpipes or a booming stereo and it vibrated the wire just the right way it'd go off.
  12. If you're getting the runaround from both the dealership and the tire manufacturer, you go to the dealer and tell them that if they won't help you your next stop is going to be the local TV station/newspaper, and then the Better Business Bureau to file a complaint.
