  1. I have a Freemont Base, which is equivalent to a Journey SE and I definitely miss a rear view camera, would gladly swapped the auto dim mirror for that.
  2. Interesting as I have noted on my Freemont that the paint quality overall is not the best. I have a 16 year old Mercedes that sits in the open with a more durable paint job. My paint is about a thin as tissue paper and the bonnet (hood) has a definite "sand texture" feeling, despite numerous coats of wax.
  3. I converted the stock HI Beams to HIDs in my Freemont. I use a driving light relay harness to power the modules and the stock harness to provide the signal to the relay. Results are that the HID's flash once when firing up and then build up steadily with no flickering. The road laws in OZ states that "using HID's in the main beam (dipped, or low) the headlights must have self leveling and washers. In the HI beam (driving) there are no restrictions as you should dip your light in oncoming traffic. That's why hi beams only, low beams require all the extra's to stay legal, not to mention as above the low beams setups are very specific to the light globes fitted and the optics of the reflectors are not set up for HID's.
  4. That wheel mount must be a custom build. I cannot find any info on it.
  5. This is my second brand new fresh of the lot car. My first was a TE Cortina! It is only in its first week of ownership and the only issue I have is the poor headlights. I don't know if it is an american thing but I had the same issue with my Mercedes ML320. Poor headlights with no depth penetration and almost 3700k light colour. I am now in the process of replacing said lights with osram nightbreakers for the low beams and leds (cree's) for the high beams. Apart from that the car has enough bells and whistles to keep me occupied. I have yet to get substantial fuel use figures, but with around town I am getting 10l/100km. On the headlights I know the manual suggest to move the tipm. How is this achieved? Is is fairly painless? Or can it end in disaster. Any thoughts would be appreciated. So far my impression of the car is that is was a good buy. Definitely not a load carrier. I'll leave that to the ML.
  6. No, its a petrol 2.4l (gasoline) engine. The V6 is about $3000 more expensive and diesel is more expensive to run in Australia due to the relatively high price of diesel and servicing so the fuel savings wont make up for the extra costs of servicing, purchase etc..
  7. Morning everybody, just introducing myself. I have just purchased a 2015 FIAT FREEMONT. The reason is that in Australia, Dodge Journeys can only be had with the V6 Only the Fiat comes with the 4cyl now. But I know that for all intents and purposes they are the same car. So hopefully I can gather information pertaining to the car from this forum. Glad to be here. Bob
